AMD CARDS EQUIVALENT TO NVIDIA'S 980/TI
Hi guys,
I just got my ultrawide freesync monitor LG-34uc88. So it will make sense to go for an AMD card, right? Or not?

I have been doing some research but it hasn't cut it yet, so is there any amd cards performance equivalent to nvidia's 980 or 980Ti? Or better?

Thanks in advance.

AMD doesn't make a card as powerful as the 980ti. Also worth noting that the 980 is two years old, and has already been replaced in Nvidia's lineup.

google for gpu benchmarks and you can find a list of both nvidia and amd cards and how they rack up with each other, should be simple enough to find the one your looking for.

RX 480 8gb model is equilavent/better than gtx980 depends on app you run; dx11 or vulkan and dx12. MSI gamingX or XFX GTR edition both has better cooling among other 480's on the market, less noize. But I'd wait for 'next' amd release tbh. rx480 is already got old and it wasn't that succesfull at launch either.

R9 Fury 4GB sounds like what you're looking for, R9 Nano is a good alternative for ITXs. Wait for Vega if you want a true 8GB competitor.

R9 Fury X. Bear in mind that depending on your local pricing, a GTX 1070 will offer similar performance and draw less power.

As far as "waiting for Vega", unless the launch is a few weeks away (which it isn't), shop smart and get what you need when you need it.

Cheers, most-definitely will. I was just looking for a card that will give me constant 55 fps plus coz my new monitor has freesync (34UC88) and i dislike screen tear.
