That said if you're interested in games you can get on consoles...Well, for starters, there's always the SNES classics, like FFIV (a.k.a. FFII), FFV, FFVI (a.k.a. FFIII), Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, and so on. Those carts might cost you a pretty penny (and officially there isn't even a translation for some of them) though they exist in digital re-releases (and in Engilsh). But you might already know about those. (I think the only one I've mentioned that hasn't gotten an English release ever is Seiken Densetsu 3.)
That said, some games which aren't quite as universally famous (and thus not as expensive), but still quite enjoyable, include:
* Summon Night series (PS2+ systems I think) and spinoffs e.g. Swordcraft Story for GBA and Twin Age for DS
* Golden Sun (two games/one story for GBA, then a sequel for DS)
* Nostalgia (DS), a personal obscure favorite of mine (even if the airship battles are kinda tedious)
* A Witch's Tale (DS)
* Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1), Tactics Advance (GBA) and Tactics A2 (DS)
* the various Fire Emblem games, which started having official English releases on the GBA, even though the very first FE game was for the NES. Remakes exist for most of the older games.
* Wild ARMs series (on PS* systems)
* Phantasy Star series (on Sega systems, and some of them are on Steam in an officially-emulated form)
* Energy Breaker (SNES, no English release)
* others I'm less familiar with such as Tactics Ogre, Warsong/Langrisser, .hack// games (PS2), Shining series (Shining Force, Shining Ark, etc.), Radiant Historia (DS), Radiata Stories (PS1), Threads of Fate (PS1), Vagrant Story (PS1), etc.
There's a ton honestly and it might be better to qualify your request or better yet just look into stuff and see what strikes your fancy.
16 items are on sale there, of which 3 are Tales games and 1 is God Eater 2. The rest seem to be Dragon Ball Xenoverse, One Piece Pirate Warriors, or Naruto Shippuden of some sort. Some seem like compilation deals so there may be de facto repeats.
Doing a Google search brings up the following names: Baten Kaitos, Evolution Worlds, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Mega Man X Command Mission, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Medabots Infinity, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness (and Colosseum), Digimon World 4, Virtua Quest, Phantasy Online: Episodes I & II (not sure if it's actually online but it might be?), Phantasy Star Online: Episode III, Lost Kingdoms, Lost Kingdoms II, Star Fox Adventures, Mystic Heroes, and The Legend of Zelda games (Four Swords Adventures, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time/Master Quest, and Collector's Edition). source: http://www.listal.com/list/jrpgs-on-gamecube
Off the top of my head I also now remember Mega Man Network Transmission but that's more of an action platformer I think.
But yeah, it doesn't have a lineup of the most famous names (Tales was mostly on PSwhatever, as were Final Fantasy games, Wild ARMs games, Atelier games, etc.), but it has at least a few pretty strong ones.
The GBA and DS might have more in the way of big names. FFTA/FFTA2, Disgaea, remakes of FF4/5/6, Summon Night Swordcraft Story 1 and 2 and a couple other Summon Night games, Atelier Annie, Dept. Heaven series (Riviera, Yggdra Union, Knights in the Nightmare), Nostalgia, A Witch's Tale, a bunch of Dragon Quest games[dragon-quest.org] (including one that has a fan translation patch), a bunch of Fire Emblem games, FF the Four Heroes of Light, three Golden Sun games, most of the Mega Man Battle Network series, Magical Vacation (fan-translated) and Magical Starsign, a bunch of Pokémon games, several Shining games, a Phantasy Star compilation, a Tactics Ogre game, Radiant Historia, and I think some other things like Sigma Star Saga, a Ragnarok game, Sigma Star Saga, Luminous Arc, etc.
