Uncharted 4 stealth
Plain and simple, it sucks. Too bare bones to be viable in most cases but is heavily "suggested" in a lot of encounters. For instance. The graveyard. ♥♥♥♥ the graveyard. If not using stealth the enemies seem endless probably 15 or so. They just swarm and badabing badaboom ya dead. Want to stealth? That's cool but get ready to not be able to mark enemies, drag bodies out of sight, or move drake smoothly in and out of cover, resulting in a "caught with your pants down" situation every time. How could naughty dog get stealth so right in tLoU but bungle it so hard in uncharted. I'm a veteran of the series, I love the games but I just feel they tried way too hard to make stealth a bigger part of the game when it just isn't meant for that.

Was it right in tLoU? Mechanically it worked, but it also had the knock on effect of making me feel like a Texan ninja lugging around a pointless armoury.

It felt a lot more functional yes absolutely. Yes Joel may have been a bit nimbler than any other 55ish year old but it was just as viable as shooting your way through each level. Both worked very well.
It's an Adventure game at heart. Stealth is BS. you are the hero play the hero.

Exactly, been that way for the last three games, stealth was always just a fun thing to do never forced. But in 4 the devs make it painfully clear they want you to use stealth by placing a ton of enemies in a single are with a lot of tall grass and poor solid cover. But it's just too clumsy to actually do effectively. I was able to pass the graveyard by using dynamite which strangely enough doesn't get you immediatey spotted and dumbly through maybe a third of the baddies after that. Maybe just poor level design at this on specific spot but I have a sneaking suspicion this will be the whole game.
