Also game devs are aliens so they have long fingers
Or, you could look into the options and rebind it to c or something, or if there's a toggle instead of press to work.
Also is this really such a big thing? I never put much thought into this, n-not that i think about other things b-baka
It just bothers me that game developers make the ctrl key as the crouch key. Almost all games have the ctrl key as the default key for crouching. I'm just like wtf, the courch key is essential to the game and you game developers make the key that far from the other keys? Are you making your game into a hand stretching excerise? Were you drunk when you made the game? What have you been smoking? Or do you have usually large hands?
I think this practice of making the ctrl key the crouch key should stop.
left alt.
You must have just started PC keyboard, and or have small fingers
left alt is easy to hit for me, I hit it with my thumb. My thumb usually presses the space key which on default is the jump key. In most games players can't jump while crouching. So I let my thumb be able to hit the crouch button easily, because it has no other better button to press while I'm crouching.
I can reach ctrl just fine but holding it makes my ring finger respond slower. Not by much, but it's enough to feel sluggish in frantic situations.
Its most likely because most people are right handed. I personally think that using the arrow keys for directions would be weird to set as default because most people are right-handed. Left-handed people that I know play their games using the buttons on the num pad. They use the 8, 4, 5, and 6 key to move their character.
