Bought a new Logitech F310 Gamepad, now encountered a derp problem.
Hello, i bought a new Logitech controller for my PC (I am a god true gamer, yes.) and i am trying to get it working in my favorite games that i have (Goat Simulator, Terraria, Starbound, etc.), but after i connected to my USB port and everything works.

Now this is where the derp problems begun. I installed the Logitech Gaming Software where it told me in the man-ual, and after i installed it: It told me that it has no USB devices plugged in and where my Logitech controller is plugged in.

It's weird on why has been doing that, and i don't know why this happened. I tested it in the properties and the controller worked, but this Logitech Gaming Software said 'nuh-uh you haven't connected it noob, won't you connect it now? oh wait you have, pfft i hate your controller! Go plug a real one, noob!' I tried everything, Unplugging and replugging it never works, and i bet restarting my PC won't do much.

Can you knock some sense into my Logitech Gaming Software to reconize my Logitech F310 controller? (If i mean knock some sense, i mean fix my problem.) Thank you, and i'll see your responses.

you need to be asking Logitech about this...
I know. But i am searching for people who know this to help me out. Plus, this thread should not go to Off-Topic. It should stay in the Help & Tips because it's a real problem. I wanted Logitech to reconize my Controller and to let steam reconize it.

But i'll try getting help from Logitech for this if it helps. If not, then i am relying on the community to help me.
You really need a Logitech Gaming Software to use the gamepad? I have the same one, and I never installed this software...
Yeah, and it never reconized my Logitech Gamepad F310 somehow when it's connected. The controller works, but the Logitech Gaming Software didn't detect my controller somehow.

Edit: I also forgot to mention how your gamepad worked magically dcsant?

Just ignore this software...You don't need it to play games.
Why? I need that to reprogram my buttons in case the game never have the default that i didn't like. Plus, i wanted Logitech Gaming Software to make my controller work with my Steam Games.

Also, in the manual, it's required to have Logitech Gaming Software for the Xinput/Directinput games to work.

Edit: My bad, i installed the wrong version of Logitech Gaming Software, now i used the right one and it reconized it.

It allows you to map keyboard keys to the controller. I use the Logitech Gaming Software with every game I play. I have to program the controller because I play with the controller and my PC mouse at the same time. Gamepad in my left hand (WASD mapped to the left analog stick and other frequently used keys mapped to buttons and the D-pad) and the mouse in my right hand. I stink with a keyboard, but I can't play games without a mouse, which is why I have to compromise.
leela_donn -Bardock, I'm not having any problems with my F310 gamepad. The Logitech Gaming Software works fine for me as well.

If you finally get it to work and you experience odd behavior with your controller, the following will usually solve it. Restarting the Logitech Gaming Software sometimes helps too.

Go into Options > Global Profiler Settings, select "Apply persistant profile" and choose the game you're currently playing from the drop down box. Keep in mind that you'll need to change the drop down box selection every time you change games. I do this with every game I play while using the Logitech controller.

There's also a small switch on the back of the controller with an X (X input) and a D (direct input) selection. The Logitech Gaming Software will only work while you're in direct input mode (switch the button to D). X input allows your controller to emulate an Xbox controller. X input mode will let the controller work with games that have Xbox controller support. D mode (direct input) allows you to program the controller any way you want. This is the only mode I use.
