Really good PC, but terrible lag and fps on minecraft
Whenever I want to enjoy some bedwars or skywars on hypixel, I get garbage frames and random lag spikes that happen every 5 seconds that last about .5 seconds. I've looked up every thing from allocating ram to Minecraft to setting Java as real-time or high priority. none of them work. I also installed badlion, lunar client, ect. None of them seemed to help with fps or lag. I also looked through every setting on Minecraft from vsync to render distance and I followed a YouTube tutorial to get the best frames, but it was the same. the best frames I can get max is between 30 to 130 with alot of lag in between. I tried putting my Nvidia graphics card to performance and not quality, still didn't help. Also tried to see if Minecraft was running on my gpu and not some other thing, but it was running on the right one. Everyone keeps saying Minecraft only matters about cpu, but mine is good if not great and it should run it easily. Now to the connection part, I live in the US and get around 30 to 70 ping in hypixel and I have an Ethernet connection. I'm the only one on my wifi. Any tips from anyone I just want to start playing hypixel again but it seems impossible. I will list my PC specs below:

9th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 9700K

Windows 10 Home

NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2080 SUPER™ 8GB GDDR6 (OC Ready)

16GB Dual Channel HyperX™ FURY DDR4 XMP at 2933MHz

1TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD

I also have 16 gb of ram

Did you plug your monitor to the RTX 2080 or to the motherboard? If it`s plugged to the motherboard then it uses your CPU integrated graphics instead of RTX 2080.
Set a limit on fps like 120 or use vsync

Some games will just run as many frames as maxes out your card. This is good advice. Also, run CPUID, msi afterburner or something to see if anything is overheating.

i found these in the internet.

"hi guys, i recently had this issue as well. i turned off anisotropic filtering in the quality section of the video settings menu and it raised my fps from about 60-100 without shaders to more than 300. with shaders, my pc got down to 16 fps, now i can play at a stable 60."

and this

"I had some GPU Specific software dedicated to controlling GPU performance. I mainly used it to control fan speeds for better cooling. I closed it in the background and the stuttering stopped instantly. The software is GPU Tweak III, which works fine with every other game but Minecraft. I noticed that when my computer needed to update a bunch of chunks GPU usage would actually decrease instead of increase so I figured that was the problem and it turns out it was. Thank you for the help, everyone!"
Few things:
1) Download Optifine. It may help a bit, Optifine's single purpose is to try and make java less of a disaster.

2) Dedicate more RAM to it. I forgot the exact command, but within the mc launcher you can input a code to allow it to use more RAM. Most of mc's performance is actually RAM heavy, so changing that value could do wonders.

3) Live with it. Java Minecraft is an unoptimized mess, and that's putting it lightly. The reason it still gets used is because no one wants to touch Bedrock with a 10 foot pole, so you're forced to settle for the spaghetti code that is Java. There is only so much that can be done for a game as poorly optimized as java, there comes a point where you'll have to accept this is the best it'll get in terms of performance.
