Potato chips are a scam.
seriously, it's a joke at this point, 70% air and like 30% chips.

IMO there should be a law to stop these kinds of scams.

They mention the weight on the packet

Make some
On the back of all chip bags it says:

This package is sold by weight, not by volume.
You can be assured of proper weight even though some settling of contents occurs during shipping and handling.

there is a lot of 'air' to protect chips from 'breaking'. you pay for potato chips net weight

I'd say low fat fries are a better option for a cheat meal.

Buy Pringles. Expensive but no air.
If you already know what to expect then you're not getting ripped off. You chose to buy them

It is not exactly air.
The cushion actually is nitrogen gas. Chip manufacturers fill bags with this preservative gas to help keep chips fresh. If it were filled with regular air, the chips would likely turn soggy and spoil.

Wait, so I can use unopened potato chip bags + O2 and make nitrous?

Chichirrones are better than potato chips anyway.

Gimme them pork rinds. Spicy hot, please.

Stores never weights potato chip bags, you don't buy the bag by weight.

Price is always right, it has no value but it has a tag

It's similar to buying videogames or presliced bread.
