Edit
Okay so this might already be in the works., hopefully replacing windows as default OS while running Windows Virtually when need...
Edit
So now they have Proton A WINE Mod that lets windows based game work, sounds great.
Tin Foil Hat or Bubble
So I Install Both Windows 10 & Steam OS as Single/Duel Boot, Never go online with Steams OS other than the password step if needed, so only used for my Singleplayer/Offline Games for better FPS, then I can Virtual Machine HyperV Steam OS in Windows to Play Online games which provides 3 Triple Layer Virus Protection for my Computer... 100% Virus Proofed. From a purely used as a Gaming Platform case, Maybe, unless password jacked.
If Virtual Machine gets a virus I can Delete & active its backup...
If Windows gets viruses from downloading/browsing I delete it...
I Restore/Keep Both those Backups on my Offline Steam OS...
No FPS gains for Online Games however that a fair trade off...
Of Course if one does care about Viruses FPS Gains around...
But I don't want to risk a virus like Meltdown hitting my CPU...
Its bad for software to fail but for your hardware unacceptable...
Windows Update will likely keep those Hardware Viruses Out...
Does one really need 3 OS even if ones Virtual Machine, Yes...
Really no but thats why I called Tin Foil Hat rather the Bubble...
Because your systems getting tracked regardless on Internet...
Well why/what does anyone else want to use Steam OS for?
Hates Windows Updates.
Think Linux is a lot Safer.
A better FPS/Experience.
It is cheap like a console.
But better customization.
Whatever the reason its a good idea I'd support it simply to replace Consoles & Windows.
Well seems Intel is creating a mid range card that might possibly be better than anything we have seen before for a price tag far cheaper than what you might expect top this rumor off with 3d stacked CPUs & a 3.0Ghz processor might turn the world on top of its head, could a pure INTEL gaming rig be in the near future, but if that wasn't surprising enough is steam about to drop dead if windows starts letting Xbox Discs/Games be used on Windows, I see RED ALERT FLAGS POPPING UP AT STEAMS HQ but don't worry this is fair from the end of the world as Steam boxes might be making a return allowing players do ditch Windows OS & not a moment soon enough so I wonder who is winning here? We hate Windows OS but it games well enough, but now so could Steam OS, so is Steam OS killing Windows well no never theres no way for Steam to keep up with system lv protection but how much does that matter hmm if you could possibly be obtaining 15+30 more frames while gaming, well if it was purely a console system then it works but as a replacement for Windows OS on your Home PC not really...
So what happens when you can literally just rent a cheap Xbox Game form say Redbox & play it would people just not buy the steam version, well yea why pay when you can rent & with disc subscribe monthly sights you'd never have to be restricted to steam again so no DRM wait its still xbox & windows which is really bad likely no mod support or would maybe toss windows into a gaming mode like the China's Subor Z+ & then it would possibly be getting FPS BOOSTs too so wow the Games Platform Wars just hit the FANs umm us, everyone... For good or ill who's to say...
So whats any of this have to do with this game well IF suddenly in 2 years PC graphics/cpus get dirt cheap & we all switch over to the Next GEN PC of 2022 that cuts cost by 500$ worth will we finally have a proper budget gaming PC for 500$... but if so wouldn't that in turn cut the costs of consoles to say 300$ or less I hope so... & what OS would we even be using Wndows even with all its issues does have a massive Xbox Gaming Disc advantage over than OS steam could over.
Well all this is just Theories rolling around my head... 2-3 years isn't along time but looks like a war is ramping up in both OS Gaming & System Hardware Both for CPU & GPU... so maybe just maybe I'll wait for Windows Xbox Disc Compatibility & simply rent discs like this one you who a game version striped of Denuvo... Free of DRM god forbid Windows of all its nonsense & crap actually manages to be the HERO of modern gaming... Crazy but hey if Windows/Xbox puts this off we would have a perfect gaming platform... LONG LIVE PC MASTER RACE!
Intel Arctic Dedicated GPU!
Intel 3D Generational CPU!
Xbox discs on Windows 10!
Steam OS Console Coming!
These are crazy times for PC.
