Movies like "Jacob's Ladder?"
Looking for good psychological thrillers and ( if possible ) where to find or stream them. :lunar2019coolpig:

Might have already seen it but worth a shot!

Inland Empire is difficult to start (shot on an awful early 2000's consumer video camera with strange performances - even by Lynch standards) but it becomes a really interesting study of the film industry and film itself once you get past those aspects. On repeat viewings and with a better understand David Lynch, the cinematography and the choice to shoot with such an abomination becomes almost amusing rather than painful, and takes on a whole new meaning.

And I'm going to look for that one called "Seconds" on Criterion...

Falling Down isnt really like Jacob's Ladder IMO. Good film but not the same kind of film.

The Jacket is another veteran based thrillee
Buried (2010, Ryan Reynolds)
Wrecked (2013, Adrian Brody)
In the Mouth of Madness
Angel Heart (more conventional thriller tho)

...most known ones have already been mentioned. Jacob's Ladder is definitely pretty unique and they don't tend to make a lot with that sort of extra surreal atmosphere.
Sadly, I've seen almost everything listed. ( That must make me an uber geek lol )

Dig deep, guys! XD

From me, I might add the the Suspiria remake. May not fit the category, but WOW, did it have some crazy cool imagery / scenes...
Brazil was surreal and weird but not really horrific.

...and you've probably already seen it. :steamhappy:

I don't think I have, actually. LOL

I wonder if I can stream it anywhere...
Well maybe you haven't seen "Tetsuo, the Iron Man". Good luck finding a copy of it. :P

Also check out movies from "Werner Herzog", he makes rather special movies and now documentories but it might be far from what you wanted.
how about "gaslight" its an oldie but it manages to get a psychological term named after it.
Its not really that scary until you realize this is happening on a day to day bases to people, even in modern times.
little trivia, it has Angela Lansbury (Known better as Jessica Fletcher from "murder she wrote") in one of her very first roles. so you see her in her 20s orso.

==================================

Another one would be "The ninth gate" Its more an occult thriller, but it does a good job of keeping things surreal. Making you guess if what is implied is real or not.

==================================

then there is "the house jack build" Its a wild card. It feels like a art class was split in to groups to make parts of a film and then pasted together with one over arching story. (the last part is the wierdest)
It does have some parts that are sponsored by heinz tomato ketchup but nothing to bad.

==================================

"Await further instructions" is more mystery horror but still a nice though low budget movie.
The Holy Mountain.
Believe it or not, I've seen "Await Further Instructions" ( Netlfix ? ) and really liked it. :)

The Ninth Gate? Might have seen it but it's been so long that I remember NOTHING. lol Would like to buy it or rent again...Thanks! :lunar2019grinningpig:
Never heard of The Holy Mountain.
