What if your reality, IS virtual reality, and you had been asleep outside your world.
I wouldn't count on it. How would that even work?

Maybe by connecting your nerves and brainwaves to the VR.
That might be dangerous, and might not even work, like don't ask me, i'm no scientist xD

Assuming VR ever becomes affordable for the majority of the population, probably not. Full-Dive would essentially mean that the headset would "numb" your body by disabling your nerves going to your hands, eyes, legs, etc., and having the headset understand those nerve impulses to convey that to the VR Game / Software.

The fact that it would have to disable parts of your nervous system to work would probably turn a lot of people off from it until it's been certified to be 100% safe, and even then people will have doubts.

So no OP, your SAO Fantasy will likely not happen.

Tho it's safe to assume that this might be the future of our VR.

If it ever does exist, I wouldn't want to use it. It sounds unsafe, and would likely require some surgery to be able to use it.

We will just have to wait and see...

We are actually closer to it than you think. The research required to make Full-Dive is mainly in the medical field for when we do MRI and brain donors to help us understand parts of our brain or what would happen if it were exposed to something.

What we will need to do is tap into a certain part of the brain and do it harmlessly. As for how 'that' will happen, I have no idea.

No, any brain scan type interface technology is so low resolution its a struggle to control even the most basic of things, immersion in a virtual world is science fiction.

The MRI measures blood flow not neurons. Invasive implants measure a minuscule number of neurons.

Current VR is a dead end tech tree.
