Why is the gaming industry so aggressive with monetization?
It seems like gaming industry is more focused with trying to take every penny from gamer's pockets. From the loot box, to the season pass it seems like developers are just trying to nickel and dime us for every cent we have: and I have no dam clue why they are so greedy, anyone got any answers?

Because idiots with poor economic responsibilities keep buying into it.

Don't blame the industry. Blame the brainlets who made it successful.

Probably because they're having trouble making money otherwise.

Either due to the cost of making games or the lack of sufficient people buying them at desired prices. Probably both.

It's impossible to know that when they don't release their finances and put time/money into meaningless details. It's more likely that they just do it because they can get away with it, not because they need to.
My guess is that such things were made as a way to make extra money as well as keep customers' attention on the game.

Competition for attention is extremely stiff these days, stiffer than it's ever been.
