I heard microsoft was adding “coins(gems)” to game or whatever
plus , if microsoft realizes what a gold mine steam is , perhaps i can finally actually play fable 2 again , i only played that a bit on the 360 but i really enjoyed it , would love if they ported 2 to steam and made 3 available for purchase again
doubtful. it would take weeks to collect the reports, analyse them and work on any potential fixes and then those need testing and more reports to go back. besides this, the E3 thing is coming up in June and i can't believe that MS would miss a once in a life time shot at having the ear of the public in full at one of the most prestigious events around.
Literally from the developers themselves in the insider program. Talking about Reach on pc and xbox here, not the entire collection.
IF is a big word. so they aren't sure that they can put it out at the end of the month.
They say if everything goes well it could be out as early as this month.
They also said could as well as if.. Other words included could be and as early as this month.
With E3 down the road, i don't expect MS to give up the chance to fully put MCC on PC in the public eye for Reach and CE. Hyping up everyone for when it releases.
disagreed
all they really have to do , is to make you fill out a question sheet everytime you play , "was the experience enjoyable , did the matchmaking find players fast, was the skill balance good"
all things they could tinker with at the end of a day based on what most people voted for
sure if they had text spaces , it would require more work to go through all , but just basic things like " is the field of fiew high enough ?" yes no , fans have coded a fov slider in cod within hours of the game being out , for the halo devs it cant take more than 2 hours to code it
and for more specific complaints ,just make a post on steam where everyone can write things they found problematic , that forum would be only for those that downloaded and played the test , so it wont be full of spam and if someone just writes "the map rotation was repeating a map too often ( i just looked up some halo 4 gamepaly ,and remembered again , there was a 3 map voting )
so maybe they could add a 4th map to the vote , or a "random " option , like cod black ops 2 had it
if theres a problem more people had , more will report it and it will be fixed , remember , the games are already made , 343i just needs to optimize the experience , if someone plays in borderless , and reports that the game pauses when you move to another monitor , they just need to set a "check if primary thing - false" or however its coded , final fantasy 10 runs perfectly even if you do other things ,the game even still reacts to your gamepad inputs while you do stuff on the 2nd monitor
the games already are finished, high hz support , kb&m support also is confirmed , they wont have to do much after the "beta test" just iron out small things , wether its improved mouse movement in menus that were made for a gamepad , or whatever ´
another thing might be switching inputs , so if you have a gamepad and move the stick , it automatically shows gamepad prompts for opening a door , while for keyboard it says the key
all things that can be found out after a short test, and after a short report they can go patch it , simillar to what valve did with team fortress 2 , look at the meet your match update ,that launched awfully , the matchmaking however was fixed shortly after, some very bad things got removed almost instantly
Voting systems can be abused.
not sure 343 would notice the Steam tech support section. it would be more likely it would be referred to a forum on a microsoft website where the devs can collect that information. besides, if the information isn't accurate and complete, the devs will have a hard time figuring out what your issue really is, so sorting through the reports will be time consuming, let alone filing into separate orders so they know what the issues are.
game optimisation could contain unintended features, those will still need to be reported and analysed and a fix put in place. it's the same for general game bug reports.
Beta testing isn't a simple matter and neither is optimising a game, these things will take time to do. Let's say for example MS does push this game out in a month and it's full of bugs. How do you expect the community to respond to this and what kind of knock on effect will it have. Do you think 343 will just leave things to one or two devs to fix after launch, or will they divert resources away from 2 and 3?
they will get it done when they are ready and not because someone is throwing out "if" or "could be".
a short test internally won't find half the things that can be found in the open, MS wants as bigger pool of people they can get to test this game to find everything. if the test is only a few weeks, that is still a lot of reports, test data and so many other things to get through. that can't be done in a short time.
eh , csgo can stay alive, i dont care , i just hope it kills fortnite
