Are instant noodle's cooking instructions wrong?
https://i.imgur.com/D5j3EB7.jpg

Step 1 : Boil water
Step 2 : Insert noodle brick

[X] Why is this wrong?

You should first insert the noodle in water before the water boils. It will help to wash preservatives and wax away. The hard noodle will be softened before water boils. Being soft, they spread and expose themselves neatly so that every part of it receive a good amount of heat. The noodle will cook faster and better.

When you insert noodle brick in boiling water, chemical reaction happened and you're eating more preservatives and wax. Some parts of the noodle brick receive more heat and some parts less. The noodle will cook slower. You will also be wasting more time and gas while waiting for the water to boil.

Step 3 : Insert soup base
Step 4 : Stir

[X] Why is this wrong?

It is not possible for every part of water to have a fair share of soup base when there are noodles in between. You should first remove cooked noodle into bowl. With just boiling water, insert the soup base and stir it well to gain a fully concentrated soup. Finally, pour the soup onto the bowl of dry noodles. Every part of the dry noodle is showered and absorbed with concentrated soup. Now you have a bowl of noodle which is more delicious unlike your previous.

Thanks.

Eh, whatever. I'll scarf it down in 10 seconds anyway.
That is wrong.

This is the right way.
Put 2 cups of water in the bowl.
Put in the noodles. Set seasoning packet aside.
Put bowl in microwave for 3 minutes.
Drain water to your liking add seasoning packet and stir.

Been making these for 40 years and this is the fastest and creates al dente noodles.

Your way involves way to much work and consumes way to much time.

Certain types of noodles are required to be cooked different ways....

And I don't know where you live, but there is no wax on my noodles, and preservatives don't wash away, if there any to begin with. Looking on the bag of these from Wal-Mart,,,, Nope, no wax or preservatives. Lots of additives that aren't necessary, but according to google, no wax,,, Thiamine mononitrate could technically be considered a preservative if you really want to stretch it.

The entire thing is wrong. It doesn't even once involve opening an app and ordering delivery instead.
I just eat them raw.

After the water boils, I just dump everything in and let it cook together.

I just put it in a bowl of water and microwave it for 4 minutes then add the flavor

I remember someone in high school who did this.

I eat ramen noodles raw. Smash'm up and eat them like crackers. I've got a drawer full of flavor packets I keep telling myself I'm gonna use in something else but never do.

For someone that rarely eats noodles... I can at least see a good logical cook. Cheers for the tips.

Do you know why instant noodles take 3 minutes?

It has nothing to do with the required cooking time, even though they attempt to force it that way. Logically it could take less than a minute, as they are already cooked.

3 minutes is a calculated time... the perfect time... for the instant noodle creators.

You see waiting 3 mins for the food, makes you feel more hungry. 4 mins or more, you would become impatient. 1-2 mins and you would just woof them down without considering hungry factor. It's that 3 mins delay which is an attempt to make you more hungry and desire them more, so you enjoy it even more. Plus keep you coming back for another one next time.

A sales tactic which plays with your mind.

The boil probably kills any bugs and bacteria in it from a dirty production process.

3 minutes rolling boil is how long you should give water on a campfire.

This will also kill most nutrients in the vegetables you boil as such you are correct in that you should steep vegetables and other non meat ingredients in just below boiling, this is why steamed vegetables are good for you. However, it is recommended to boil to kill off any contaminates if you're outdoors or using unclean water or ingredients. I would highly recommend boiling meat if youre outdoors and have caught it wild and prepared it outdoors.

Most vegetables out of a packet or tinned food like soup etc will say on them, do not boil.

This is just a guess, their production should be safe. "should". It could be that they assume that youre boiling in a standard kettle and so once it clicks it off it immediately drops below boiling point.

Throw the noodle brick into a hot frying pan with butter and the flavor packet.

Eat raw.
Drink a pint of water.
Wait 30min.

Shouldn't be hungry again for at least, 1.5hr
