They don't make them like they use too... more technological "features" just equal more to go wrong as the vehicle ages...
Edit: Remember when one could open the hood and not only identify the parts but could see the parts?... lol
When I popped the hood to look for the fuse box I was taken aback at how the engine was arranged, hell I didn't even recognize the battery. It's half the size of every other car battery I've ever seen!
Oh well, it's what I wanted and despite the malfunctions so far I'm happy with it. In a few years when I retire I'm gonna buy and old car, probably another Nova and fix it up and do the things to it I could never afford to do with my original Nova.
Nice.... post photos when you do... love them old Novas.

When plastic and aluminum were trim pieces and not major components of the vehicle...
It’s that you bought a Chevy
I can't make up my mind if I want to get another 79 Nova like my very first car which wasn't a muscle car, but I still have very fond memories of it. Or a 68/69 Nova with a big block.
I like the 79 because it was bullet proof and I dunno, I guess I've got some really fond memories of all the effort I did put into fixing it up only to be cut short by crap pay flipping burgers and family that didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ whether I was driving a safe car or not.
At the same time, while I've never been a car guy into hot rods (I like nice cars, just never cared about fast cars) I'm getting older and it would be nice to have one and fix it up and have something that's fast enough to get me into trouble, even if I never dry it like that.
I don't really care for imports and all these kids with their rice burners don't impress me any at all. I don't care how many neon lights or how loud their radios are, I'll take American muscle over those things any day of the week. Part of the reason I was attracted to the HHR was it's retro look, and I really like the look of the Challenger and Charger, more so the Challenger.
