Anthem: Didn't even look at Warframe, Destiny in development
Skill-Up has created a post mortem on Anthem referencing an 11,000 word article that I will link for those of you interested, which basically debunks a lot of theories we shared with one another on this forum. Namely, EA isn't the primary reason, or a reason at all, that Anthem falls short. If curious, here is video and link to article. May we discuss these things here.

Skill-Up Post-Mortem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKTXBe-jtfk

Please understand that Anthem is on Origin and as a topic of interest to Warframe community in the past, it is a small update and closure to that debate "Warframe vs Anthem" Any game which ignores its competition and their mistakes is Destiny-ed to fail. Pun intended.

That said, great, Warframe is looking better than ever, right?

Well, one thing is for sure: DE has to be the trend setter moving forward because now there is a fantastic prime example of how to fail in this genre, which is to have artists not unify under a singular, creative vision but rather design by-committee and popular trends. DE is on the fringe of being like this.

Guys, don't fight.
The article by Kotaku is actually really interesting on it's own, and video by Skill Up is also chill and logical. If anything, this article doesn't create another beef between games, but serves as a cautionary valuable tale on game development and importance of clear vision and proper leadership.

They were indie in the first place? They seem the size of Hi-rez studios at least.
Yeah, i think they were before they got bought by our glorious chinese overlords.

I just watched a review on Anthem today by Gmanlives, and one of the issues he outlined was the artificial difficulty that the game provided, where enemies basically got more health and damage, without actually becoming different in other aspects. He also mentioned the tedious repetitive gameplay and overall gave the game this feeling of "there's potential there, but it's not used". I'm afraid DE went down this path with Warframe, caring more about pushing content to please the masses, than actually making the game feel like a proper game.

Warframe might as well be a F2P Anthem with a few years of advantage in an awful lot of areas. I mean, you got this gorgeous environment and concept being put down by repetitive gameplay and artificial difficulty that gets progressively worse the more you look at it. I'd bet my ass Anthem has this meta going to to combat the artificial difficulty too.

Digital Extreme used to work alongside Epic in Unreal Tournament games. Don't remember when their separation appeared, tho.

Whenever it was, it's a good thing it happened, otherwise we'd have another EGS exclusive and God knows what kind of cringy pop culture references permeating the game.

anthem is a total failure by the suits running the show...

bioware magic is an excuse to just run your team ragged...

i dont want to play games that literally sacrifices families and relationships to supposedly feed me entertainment...

forget about saving the planet by not using plastic straws.. save the poor grunts that do the dev work...

my view is DE is in a good place, not perfect.. but far from the usual behaviour that has plagued this industry

I'd rather not have another "game vs Warframe" release for the next 4 years.

I don't mind if new games are released that some people consider worth comparing to Warframe, but I always thought it was silly that these people can't comprehend being able to play more than one game at once

If I liked Anthem, I'd play Anthem, but playing it wouldn't exactly displace me playing Warframe. It's not hard to make time for multiple games

To be honest, Anthem NEED to learn from its contemporaries. Division 2 learn from its past mistakes.

Bioware management mistake was banning mention Destiny during production. AAA developers and publishers still turn a blind eye toward DE and Warframe, despite gaming media mention this game.

Warframe and Path of Exile are two relevant F2P games that are constantly flew under radar of the mainstream.

A little competition isn't bad, but if people will act like Bilzzard fanboys when Paladins opened it's beta i prefer not having that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hammering the forums all month.

Honestly, I'm not even sure Warframe flies under the radar. Everytime I see "gaming journalism", Warframe is held on super high regard and DE receives infinite praising, for reasons no sane man comprehends.

DE is a success story that manages to live on without any detrimental failures. That's worth covering for what it is.

It takes visionaries to look forward to and plan for the success of the game moving forward. The Sacrifice is old now and that's the "best campaign mission ever" according to many of those journalists. The mainstream doesn't grind the game to oblivion yet many choices in the recent years are totally catering to grindheads. They are moving backwards from their high points. They are DEfended to death by complacent grindheads that are very easy to satisfy and don't care about others, so long as they have some escape at the end of the day.

The game is plagued by a community which doesn't have real criticism for the game, just baseless praise and polarizing fanboying.
