Fed up with microtransactions in everything everywhere...
Almost every single game has microtransactions and frankly I'm sick of them... Hey *waves at publishers* Do you really think I am going throw money down the toilet for your fat-checkbooks.

I don't buy a lot of games for the reason of micro-transactions. If you sat down and calculated how much money people waste on micro-transactions I think you'd be in for a shock.

What I do these days is find a few games I really enjoy and just stick to them.

Current games are meh at best and not worth my time/money. I 100% agree with you with microtransactions.

Does anyone remember videogames before this self-perpetuating cycle of micro-transactions begun? My first PC wasn't great and I played on family PCs This is how it went.

Starlancer (Amazing space sim classic)
Imperium Galatica 2 (Amazing Realtime strategy with not only ground combat, space and city building / management)
MechWarrior 4 Vengence (Amazing game as well)

If a DLC came out it was on DISK installed then integrated with the game, fairly well. "Live service games" are so bland now? You'd think with all the graphics innovations games would get better?

Yup! I remember the days. Used to play Unreal (and still do sometimes) and I loved just how much content was packed into a single game. Incredible and I wish those times would return but sadly not.

Bots were awesome with Unreal 2004. Man capture the flag was great. Vehicles everything 60 player count. Redeemer :D lets nuke the map.

Stuff like this is why I play old retro games.

It sucks that because so many gamers buy into them, that it encourages AAA developers to continue adding them and push them as far as possible, thus ruining things for the rest of us.

As much as I hate Sony exclusives for their story over gameplay approach. AAA developers should take note that quality experiences sell, and all without needing microtransactions.

This is why I went with Indie developers, not "hugely known". Good games like Foxhole, Subnautica, Factorio. 0 Micro-transactions (work for what you wnat) heck you can even cheat in them. If you want. Not foxhole the SP games.

I loved Homeworld 2 so much I waited for the remaster.

It's the "whales" that really amp up the issue.

You know the rich people who fall into the more money than sense category.

Look at your average gacha game expenditure for some people, they'll quite happily dump thousands of shekels into these things for no return other than digital stuff that will one day go up in smoke. Worse, they'll brag about it.
Unreality Feb 24, 2019 @ 6:17pm
Sphere, what games do you currently enjoy playing?
iceman1980 (Banned) Feb 24, 2019 @ 6:18pm
Anyone that is "genuinely rich" who isn't a date-pit brain doesn't do this, ever. They'd go bankrupt.

Not whole lot, Subnautica, (Bought Subzero: good buggy, happy to support devs). Skyrim, you start to "get older" you get kind of fed up of the ♥♥♥♥ AAA devs pull. I wheeped when Anthem came out.

My response EA you commited blasphemy and destroyed BioWare. D: Why...

Oh one game I frequently enjoy DRG (Deep Rock Galactic)
Oh and the other, Prey and a few others, Monster Hunter World is even really great.

You could just play the game and not use them, you know.

Studies + Excessively grindy games(Time sink) = Not feasible.
