We black theme lovers hate white theme lovers becos they are racist. I'm also biasly one side, have no sense of logic or balance, hold onto grudges from before I was born that don't affect me... plus this might just be some kinda dark satire.

However seriously, a dark theme was created due to most use it during night-time, making it easier on the eyes. However, there's nothing really bad about the light theme either. It's just a silly bias reason if anything and shouldn't affect them anyways. So why care? By caring or even pushing it the other way, you end up with the same illogical reason, just flipped.

But there is no black theme. Dark theme it is which is like dark gray. It combines with almost everything in the background unlike lighter or brigther themes..

Because many Discord users dislike those with certain neurological and visual dissabilities, people who can't safely use the dark theme (though we can't use light theme, either because it's so poorly designed). Thankfully, the majority of places online are more dissability-friendly than Discord. Maybe someday people who need a Light Theme with NO Dark Theme tacked onto it will be welcome on Discord, but, for the moment, our only choices are to not use Discord at all or to use mods that violate Discord's TOS like Better Discord or Beautiful Discord (and hope Discord doesn't break them again...).

PS: My ability to use Steam's website is provided entirely by the plug-in "Turn Off the Lights" (which can be configured to turn "on" the lights on sites like Steam. Sadly, since Discord is an application, Turn Off the Lights doesn't work on it. The only way I can actually use Discord is to invert all the colors on my entire screen using Windows Magnifier.

Dark theme feels easier on the eyes.

It's not just Discord, it's any platform that has the option between a light and dark theme.
The remarks against light themes aren't serious either.

Not only that, but displaying darker pixels consumes less battery power on mobile devices.

Not that I use Discord.
Huh, nice to know.

If I have an option between themes on any platform I'll always go with the dark theme, I use my computer the most at night and don't like all of the brightness it gives off.
I use black always, even on youtube.
Doesnt matter if its nighttime or not, its just better + this laptop doesnt have that good brightness options, everything feels either too bright or the brightness is too low.

imo the light theme doesn't look cohesive

I use light theme because it was the only theme released when Discord was released, although I have not started using Discord at that time as I was underage. I also use light theme because when a user posts a bait-and-switch image I can already see the trolling part of the image with the color of the dark theme without even having to click on it. I also use light theme because I want to see others' reactions to my light theme screenshots.

Overall, I like both light and dark themes, but I wonder why more people use dark theme.
