Is it worth downloading the epic games launcher for the free games?
I've heard something about chinese spyware in the launcher. Not to mention the controversy behind epic games lately. But free games are always nice.....always wanted to try Axiom Verge. Opinions on the epic games store?

not worth it if you ask me , if you want free games , go keep an eye on humble bundle or other legit sites that give games away or have very cheap bundles for games

i havent used them but when meatboy was "soon going to be free" i tried using their store and honestly , its awful , doesnt work in browser at all , they want you to have a client for everything even if its just redeeming free games , and honestly my data is worth more than a few free games

the game also already was as cheap as 8.52€ on chrono.gg at some point ( for a steam key ) , sadly the tool doesnt show what price it goes on sale for steam

according to steamdb , the lowest price on steam is 9,99$ on sale , thats also not expensive if you want it and then you have it on a store that has been around for more than 2-3 months

No spyware in Epic Games Store client. If there were, it would destroy the store due to the sheer outrage by the users.

No. It's called a principle. If I don't like Burger King, I won't go there, even if they hand out cheeseburgers for free.

If those free games interest you, I don't see why not give them a try.
Personally, none of the free games they offer interest me.
Plus, I have a job and I can buy my games on Steam.

Free Burger King cheeseburgers? Meh. Free Burger King Whoppers? Yes.

atleast burgerking has more good things than mcdonalds , bk atleast has the big king xxl , the steakhouse burger , chili cheese nuggets and onion rings , our mcdonalds only has blueberry muffins that are good and thats it

What that?

Just download it now. The free games are really free, but the offer runs for a limited time. And if you don't like it just uninstall.

People seem to hate epic for doing exactly what steam did 15 years ago. But because steam had pretty much a virtual monopoly on pc gaming for years, it seems they got Stockholm syndrome.

I have no intention of ever using epic, but steam is the exact same thing, and was far more detrimental to pc gaming than epic has been so far.

Do you what you want. If you want free games, why not? All of this "launcher loyalty" stuff is nonsense to me.

in a world where everything spys on you, including steam, you worry about epic store doing it.
