Epic or Uplay, it doesn't matter, Tencent wins in both cases :lunar2019piginablanket:

No Ubisoft game is truly a must own, they're between a bit above average and mediocre.
If you liked the first one and don't mind helping the video game market to kill third party sellers then go ahead :lunar2019piginablanket:

I read they are better at developing games compared to a few years.

The new Assassin's Creed Odyssey has 90% and people are saying that Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is the best loot shooter so far.

That's easy, the competition is Destiny 2 and Anthem :lunar2019piginablanket:

Well devs dont care about steam features or player base no matter how large. All they care for is the 12% vs 30%. So valve needs to work on that
They don't care about the 12%,they care about the upfront payment.
Proof? Discord takes only 10% :lunar2019piginablanket:
In the case of Ubisoft, they don't care about any of that. Epic being the only place besides Uplay to buy it is a strat tomove to selling exclusively on Uplay while redirecting hate from Steam users (well, the ones that could still buy Ubisoft games from Steam at least) towards Epic games.

The CEO even admitted the point was to increase exposure to their own store.

As annoyed as I am at this situation, I gotta respect how clever it is.

Honestly it is a lot more than that....

Ubisoft was almost bought out entirely and Epic help prevent the take over.
Realistically Ubisoft does NOT care about their PC playerbase as multiple employees have came forth and shared what their view is on the PC market. (Thinking its mostly made up of cheaters and pirates) Besides they make most of their money from the consoles (unless some new information came out stating otherwise)

So it really isn't clever I'd said more as it is a 'hey we own a lot of your shares, we have a hold on what you do, also we only take 12% over Steam's 30%, also here's a bunch of money to NOT release it on steam". Realistically for all we know EPIC could have threatened to sell their shares so the company trying to buy out Ubisoft can buy them and have majority say in the company.

I wasn't a fan of the original and I don't really like Ubisoft's style of games as they all follow the same template but The Division 2 has surprised me considerably. It's laden with content and is probably the most polished AAA game for many years. The scale and attention to detail is staggering too. Looter shooters aren't really my thing either but this game represents some great value for money and demonstrates how powerful Ubisoft have become in creating ambitious and impressive open worlds.

5 years ago around Unity, The Crew and Watch Dogs, they were an embarrassment.
