Earth Defence Force a cheesy game. Loads of gigantic hordes with gigantic enemy types and massive destructible environments.
Horizon Zero Dawn a little young girl beats the crap out of gigantic robot dinosaurs with a spear and a bow.
Took the words out of my mouth. Yeah, that game breaks itself by giving you way too many super powers way too quick. After the third hour you won't even bother with cars because it's easier to just jump everywhere.
Shadow Warrior 2 is badass. Maybe try that one.
