You are on a boat who do you save
I love ethics and philosophy so here's an ethical dilema, in what order would u save these people if you were on a sinking ship and why

The captain
A veteran nurse
13 year old twins
a pregnant woman
lifeguard
recently married couple
elementary school teacher
senior citizens with 15 grand children

This is all the information we have about them, Add me for fun life questionging chats!

Save the cheerleader, save the world!
if you were on a boat with these people chances are you wouldn't know anything about them other than the things they tell you, so that means you got to talk to them a lot

so i'd go for the person that I cared about on that boat the most
Depends on which seemed less capable and mostly likely to die, it could be any order, depending on their health, strength and mental state.

And if you can only rescue one of those then the senior citizens that have 15 grandchildren with them that's a no brainer.

Lifeguard - most capable in helping get more people.

Captain - same as above, probably has enough training to be a help.

Nurse - obvious reasons.

Recently married - young, helpful.

Elem. School Teacher - probably younger-ish, in my experience usually are and can help calm kids down once they're up.

13 year olds - old enough to be somewhat helpful and probably not too difficult to save

Pregnant woman - eh why not

Seniors and grand kids - these would be a pain to try and all save without having as many people as possible on hand to help.
A Captain has other jobs to do in this situation. Rescuing him wouldn't be helpful; better to leave him onboard to co-ordinate the rescue.

none, i would rather watch them drown.
Please stop it with these ethical posts. All of us know that the entirety of OT would let everyone drown then jump in the water themselves.

Just kidding. Assuming I am the only one capable of saving them other than using their own abilities, I'd try and save those who needed help the most at that time. For instance, the lifeguard will definitely not need my help, not should the captain. I would first save the pregnant woman (as most others would) and then the senior citizen with their grandchildren. I'd then save the twins and the teacher, saving the married couple and the nurse for last.

Heroes, I loved that show first 2 and a half seasons. Peter Petrelli my favorite.

Why would I risk my life to save someone I don't know?

let's see
if were going by fitness in terms of biology:
-the younger people go first
-you can save one twin the other can drown doesn't matter it's basically the same person
-pregger woman you save 2 people
-lifeguard=why the hell would he need saving unless you wanna get him out quickly to help you save others make your job of saving people easier
-nurse can help treat the people you bring out inc. their survival costs
-children get priority since they can't really survive too long
-elderly citizens are basically the same but older lol
-i actually see no reason to save the married couple since if you save one theres a higher risk the other dying before you could save them
-same with the captain they usually go down with the ship (although it's a dumb tradition but at least have them stay on there the longest it's like some sort of honor code or something)
-don't really see the benefit of saving the elementary school teacher
Assuming the elderly do not have the 15 children on the boat with them, the pregnant woman.
A child's life is the most important
The captain just to ♥♥♥♥ with him. Going down with the ship my ass.
No, I save the Dark Elf on the ship with me before heading out to Seyda Neen.

The captain, nurse and lifeguard are the ones that could provide any help in case there are any issues. The captain probably has experience with navigation, the nurse could help with first aid and the lifeguard could help stragglers out at sea. All the others fall into the same category as regular civilians.

I value usefulness over morality.

#3 - Everyone else is old enough to safe their own and my brain is filled with unlimited stuff and knowledge to survive all this with ease. The question is though, where are the parents gone of those 13 year old twins.
