yeah but that's the point, you will never find pleasure in life. you will always have bad days/weeks/months/years, that's life. if your life isn't enjoyable and exiting. does that mean you failed life? even though you are helping other people, contributing to society, being decent to others. ect ect? that's what hedonism says.
most people don't even succeed in the last things... let alone live a exiting and fun life...
The first hurdle to a fun and enjoyable life always tends to be living yours rather than trying to copy someone else's.
Most people fail at this for a long time.
Considering pop and overdoses go hand in hand i wouldnt say that a fair statement.
