I personally don't have an issue with the bling factor as much as the fact people think that mechanical watches are worth a dime. People fawn over the craftsmanship but compared to quartz watches, they are junk. You can buy a 20 buck Timex at Walmart that keeps more accurate time over five years.
It tells time and has a stopwatch and alarm. Nobody judges me for it despite wearing it every day.
I think it's mainly because of the stereotype rich peeps wear super-expensive watches to try and flex on us "commoners" or whatever, so people see anyone wearing a nice wristwatch as being somewhat pretentious and/or vain.
Bruh
theres no point spending that much money on watch, minus the smart watch if you really dont like to whip out your phone every so often
especially a regular gear driven watch with more needles, it does the same thing as regular $20 watch
also this
im sure you are smart enough to know its not " nothing too pricy "
Seems like a mechanical watch + cheap phone is a smarter buy than an iPhone which will be obsolete within 18 months.
I don't see why it's relevant how much it cost, though, as long as it tells the time correctly.
They can be "fun" to watch on and dream a bit untill reality hits in like with the sports car that passes by breafly.
seriously, if it does the nut in of some youngster who wonders why i have a watch and no phone with me, then good. if they consider me old and a relic out of time i'd be laughing at the comment.
