is Square Enix the new EA? soulless, greedy

Square Enix lost it's soul around 2004, and has been in decline ever since. Their games get progressively worse, they punish their customers by putting in Denuvo, they create all kinds of immoral business practices, they have the worst customer service of all time, all in all, is Square Enix becoming the new EA? EA is the worst game company ever, but SE is coming in a very close 2nd.

I bet you they will screw up FF16 big time, and probably screw up 7 Remake too altho i think they are being very careful with 7R cause if they screw that up, they are literally done and no one will ever trust their company ever again. All in all, eventually they will fail if they keep being soulless and only caring about money.

Can people please stop calling companies that do business to make money lacking a soul.

None of them give two damns about you but would really like your dollars. which is one all companies do because they're not based on do I love someone I would like to make money.

Even if we weren't talking about a theoretical "spirit" indwelling living beings, companies aren't living beings and thereby wouldn't even have bloody souls.

Also, of course they're out to make money. That's what capitalist enterprises are designed to do. Their shareholders want money. Their employees want money. Their corporate management wants money. So those running a corporation are going to do whatever they damn well can to make as much money as they possibly can. A corporation isn't in it for sunshine, roses, and puppy dogs.

Well, imo soulles, means not taking any pride in their work or half assing their games. I belive that regardless of a platform they put games out they should do good job everytime. Instead we see half assed, buggy ports or poor cash grabs with popular name, on mobile. Most, if not all Squares ports on mobile have been mediocre at best, yet have like 20€ price tags.

This gives me a message as a customer that they are unreliable, and they’re willing to butcher or ♥♥♥♥♥ out with their IP with no remorse at all. No company should treat their IP’s like that. Either do a good job, or do nothing.

Idk, if they did anything similar like Capcom, with OG resident evil 4 and DMC3 ports for pc, but i wouldnt be surprised.

when a game studio become big and popular they usually attract more investors which in turn Invest more money in the studio and then it's become more about delivering profits for those investors then making good games.

pretty much why some developers goes the way in making a game look good so they can have nice screenshots to sell more copies instead of focusing on what would make gamers happy like better gameplay.

but then I would not call them soul less even when they do deliver bad games.

Not all companies are same. There are indie developers who are making and giving away DLCs for totally free, even years after the game has released. Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, are examples.
