I saw it on opening night. There was nobody in the theater at all. 10 people max. The movie is absolute and utter garbage. It’s not enjoyable at all. It has its moments and Margot Robbie is alright as Harley Quinn, but the film falls flat on its face in the first act. I was paying attention more to my phone than to what was happening on screen. Obiwan is to over the top. The supporting cast is bleh. The only good parts were with black canary. The film is so damn poorly written too. Things didn’t make sense at all. No spoilers. The action scenes while fun were unbelievable. How is 90 pound women supposed to flip a 300 pound guy? None of the main cast showed any super strength so yeah no. Only good thing is I didn’t pay to see it. I snuck in after seeing bad boys for life and that showing was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ packed.

DC disappoints again.

I am 100% certain none of those girls are 90 lbs. Unless they are incredibly short. That's very abnormal and very underweight for most people. Additionally I see girls that are 130+ lbs heavy lifting more often than you'd think. I'd say that's closer to their weights. So that argument is super exaggerated. I don't like DC much to begin with though.

I like harley quinn on the comic, but this movie is too cringy and margot robbie will never be my lovely harley... never.

Margot Robbie pushed WB for the movie, over and over, under LuckyChap Entertainment as one of the production companies.

I didn't have much hope for it anyways. I guess I'll pass.

You were expecting a superhero/villain movie to be believable?

I was expecting to suspend my disbelief, but the movie never reached that point for me.

When I first saw the trailer for it, my expectation of the film was really simple. Let's see more of Margot Robbie being Harley Quinn. Because I feel she's a good fit for the character. Same as Robert Downey Jr. is as Iron Man. I don't care about plot, I don't care about realism, let me see more live action Harley Quinn.

Hollywood making bad movies is certainly a problem, but people expecting too much of any film is also a big problem that's becoming more noticeable of late. With all that said, I plan on seeing it at some point. I'm in no rush because i'm not expecting anything great. Same with the new Joker film - I need to see that too at some point.

Ever watched Aliens?
Its the first movie that comes to my mind that doesnt suck and has female main protagonist.
And there are many more but I leave it up to you to grow up and figure out that in many aspects there really is no difference...especialy in movies where the gender of the actor doesnt matter because its the script behind the movie that matters.

There's no point trying to convince him, or the op. Any female lead is always going to be weaker than a male lead to them. Their idea of female empowerment is women being allowed the freedom to choose what they're cooking for their man's dinner.

Whether this is toxic masculinity or just boys being edgy online I honestly don't know. And you're right, Ripley kicked arse btw.
