2. Why talk 2 years waiting for GTAV on PC, let's talk 20 years waiting for Diablo 2 on consoles.
3. That's called broken games. There is nothing to port considering consoles run PC hardware these days.
4. Read 3.
5. That's called "progress". PCs ditches this stupid "load data from the disk during gameplay" stuff long ago as internal drives are much faster.
6. So first there are no PC exclusives, and now there are so many games it's hard to decide what to play?
7. You've posted this on the forum of the biggest PC games market.
8. What do you mean by convenience?
9. That's called "buying another console", not "upgrading". And I don't see how the lack of choices can be a good thing.
10. Read 1 and 6.
11. That's actually yet another reason to not support console market, as there's no such thing as "I can't play with a friend who has different PC", but apparently there is such thing with consoles.
12. Then why are you using Steam if you don't like launchers?
13. Ingenious Brits from R*N have nothing to do with such things. Do you actually believe the same guys who make games like GTAV and RDR2 and make them run on weak ass consoles are the same guys who invented this Social Club stuff? Blame Take-Two.
14. Yeah, still using 2013 laptop hardware in 2020, totally not inferior to PCs at all.
15. I guess in your world consoles don't require GPUs to run games?
also don't forget that Software engineering on PC is much better, hardware is at a end.
so it's now all about the software Microsoft is doing good job of creating better and better API on the PC.
on top of that Deep learning would likely push forward both that AMD and Nvdia is investing much in.
those are Exclusive PC only.
PC games have mods, proper controls (and choice of controller when needed), endless customizability of OS, mods, the ability to do ♥♥♥♥ same time as playing (watching smth on another screen, music, messengers, browsers, business stuffs, scripts, etc.
+ the fact that u can build and upgrade it yourself according to your needs, better graphics (if you pay for it)
+ many more smaller and bigger reasons that im too lazy to list here.
The only exception to this is Nintendo stuff, because Nintendo actually has its original games which u get the best experience for playing them with controllers/on the console itself.
Still no replacement for PC.
Everything that isnt from Nintendo that calls itself exclusive can go straight in the trashcan anyway.
Also legecy consoles: modded reader head PS2, Xbox 360, etc. to play classics, xbox was bought to play gta 5 early.
Then I was like, do I really need it ? Sure I love God Of War, I've 100%ed The first two on Ps2 and Ps3 and I've 100%ed The third one on Ps3. But do I want to throw down $300 for it and a few games ? Not really.
Honestly I'm thinking of watching the games in movie form on YouTube for the story aspect
I just bought Mortal Kombat 11 on Steam. I think that I'm the problem, not PC gaming. Yeah PC gaming has some problems, but it isn't that bad. Pros outweigh the cons. I sound harsh, but PC gaming has lots of perks. It is an all in one station and it has lots of diversity with controllers and games.
I think that I'm just getting older and I like retro games the most and maybe in due time I'll get hyped for my PC gaming library.
I had to think what led me to PC gaming ? No one around me gamed on it and I had no history with it. It was because it was 2017 and I was still playing my 360 cause One was a dumpster fire and Ps4 just didn't interest me. I love PC and retro gaming and I doubt I'll get a PS5 anytime soon. I saw the Ps4 today, had a chance to buy it, walked away, was happy about that.
Linux FTW.
1. there are plenty of exclusives on the PC.
2. Not any more with M.2 SSD drives, even a regular SATA SSD can work.
3. every game has bugs and glitches and silly design elements, it isn't a PC only thing.
4. point 3.
5. So does uploading games from a disc to the drive plus updating, why do you think consoles have disk drives for?
6. That isn't even a PC problem, that is your problem.
7. Ironically consoles don't sell games anywhere near as good as the PC.
8. as opposed to how hard it is to tap some keys, move the mouse and tap the button? what makes you think sony's own OS isn't going to be as convoluted as Windows 10 on the PC?
9. Where as the PC can be upgraded at anytime.
10. There have only been a few compared to what the PC has.
11. point 6.
12. you do realise that the OS that Sony will use is nothing more than a minimal operating system but you are interacting solely from its launcher in the similar fashion to Steam on a PC with windows 10 in the background.
13. That isn't a PC thing, that is a developer/publisher preference.
14. point 6.
15. Both consoles will be using AMD kit, AMD is still light years behind Nvidia. I suppose the only good thing for you is that AMD is quantum leaps ahead of Intel graphics.
Google Stadia has proven to be a red herring. Too early to tell if GeForce Now and Project xCloud are going to be equally as dubious. best to wait a few months to get an answer on that.
