What came first Aladdin or prince of persia?
These two have very similar stories it's almost surreal but who is knocking off who?

The Book of 1,001 Nights came first, obviously. But the Disney movie has very little to do with the original story. I mean, it took place in China.

Prince of Persia was enormously influential.

Aladdin by a long shot, it traces back to the 18th century.

It's not an uncommon name and several characters throughout the book were named that. In fact, he was a real historical figure.

PoP (if we talk games vs movie) If we talk stories, they are rather close
But they are both based on the same old tale.

Indeed, Arabs took over the area by force, culturally, religiously and linguistic are very very different, atleast historical. That is as far as we can go without being to political etc.

Yep. Hence why I corrected you on the error. The prince of Persia is a Persian tale. Not an Arabic one. The clue was in the "of Persia" part.

Nitpicking. The story may be Persian but the American dorks who made up the media franchise took inspiration from Arabic compilations of old middle eastern tales.
