Fast download on Steam yet extremely slow on any web browser.
Whenever i download games or any software from steam, origin , uplay or another platform the downloading speed peaks somehwhere between 6-10mb/s. Yet when i try to download something from Chrome, Firefox, IE the download speed lies at 350kb/s. And when i use speedtest it claims my downloading speed is around 12.3mb/s. Why is this?

I have tried the following:

-Deleted Chrome and use several different browsers.
-Increase the amount of bandwidth my browsers can use
-Ran multiple scans for Trojans or any virus
-Shut down every major program that may take connection from my webbrowser meanwhile it downloads

Thank you for any answers!

its actually a common issue since the server you are downloading from are just slow in general becausd they simply cant afford faster internet
not all servers, but very common on downloading from website that doesnt have a lot of fundings

Disable any VPN's or proxys if you have any running in the background.

You should also clear the DNS cache on your OS and also change your DNS settings.

You may also want to consider using the renew command in command prompt.

[Google how to do all of the above], but before that...

Can you also take a screenshot of the DL rate and also the speedtest results?

I'm just asking this so as to verify that you've not mixed up the download rates.

Weird, because this is not just from particular websites but from any and all i visit. Had the same download speed when i downloaded Firefox using a Chrome browser. And when i tried to download mods from Nexus, and ESET malware software.

And im downloading malwarebytes if you wonder which was the latest program i tried to install.

Thanks for the answers by the way!

using FF or chrome wont do anything in this situation
if the server is slow, then you have you live like this until they can afford to upgrade their equipment
