Nintendo 3DS vs 2DS?
I own the 2DS model that is flat & doesn't bend. It WILL NOT connect to the internet for whatever reason. ( but will play games / I cannot download from the eShop. )

Anyway, I have some store credit @ local store and saw a 3DS XL Used for $109. Would it be worth the upgrade?

Because of the Switch ( which I also own ) these handhelds are essentially becoming obsolete?

The 3D is cool for a while (provided you keep your arms and head steady and don't move either), but wears out quickly. As does the battery.

But really, Nintendo doesn't want you money, so don't bother anyway.
Don't worry about Nintendo's consoles becoming obsolete. Next there will be the 3DS2(in 4D) and the WiiUBoy

A New 2DS or New 3DS is a little more powerful, and for some reason lots of games in the store are only available for the New versions including the old retro games.
Dont bother with a 3DS. If you want a replacement go for a 2DSXL. Same folding as 3DS but better battery life and of course bigger screen.

It's worth the upgrade since you're talking about the flat one that doesn't bend. However I also think the 2DS XL would be an upgrade too. I don't use the 3D in mine, but I have it because it was nicer than the 2DS in looks and screen size.

But they're no longer really supporting their true handhelds in the DS family, so I'd just stick with your Switch. Unless you reeeally want to play an exclusive 3DS game.
yes, 3ds is worth it
make sure it is the ''New 3ds'' with 2nd analogue stick.
3d super mario is great. And exclusives like Monster Hunter 3 and 4 in 3D.

The newest 2DS is the one to get. Same fastest cpu and what not of the final 3ds, but much lower price.

Unless you absolutely want the 3ds effect.

Did you bought the 2DS second hand?
It may be banned from online connectivity because of software modifications/cheating.
I'm currently rebuying every play-worthy game for the DS/3DS, i think they're still nice to own even tho the Switch exist.
I don't know how old you are, but i'm 25 and pretty fine with playing older, pixelated games.
I mainly have 3DS for Zelda:OoT
just get this neat little free program called citra. dont talk about it here, just look it up

I'll just say you lose at least one advantage with the 2DS/3DS. Physical portability and physical touchscreen if you're playing a game you want to use that in.
Go for the 2DS XL. The 3D is a gimmick and causes more eyestrain than it's worth. I picked up a refurbished 2DS XL and it works perfectly.

Citra does limit some games, the touchscreen is iffy with a mouse and it kinda defeats the purpose of portability.
