From what I understand, the game is really trash. At least, it used to be. It's basically one giant grind. But I understand that they did a couple of updates to increase the stuff to do.

"Sea of Thieves had so much potential at launch, but I’m tired of all of these "games as a service" titles being slapped with a $60 price point without hardly any content justify a full price. The only fun to be had was with other players, and even then you had to make your own fun since the game had nothing to offer outside of killing skeletons over and over.

Charging full price with the promise of "things to come" is starting to become too commonplace among gaming nowadays. Games like No Man’s Sky and Sea of Thieves may be well worth playing over a year after release, but if anything, it goes to show that titles of this nature are better off being delayed. At least Microsoft included it within Game Pass, that way you didn’t have to pay full price and can go back to it now that the game is padded with much more content."

I really like the art style, I never tried it, I think it could be a very good game and I'd like to play something like it but I am strongly against only multiplayer, always online games so I strongly despise it (like any other game made this way) and I will never try it probably.

If you're looking for a multiplayer pirating game, you might want to check out Blackwake though. It's not open-world like Sea of Thieves, but it's more ship arena team battles. Pirates vs. British Navy and you have different roles on the ship ranging from captain (who controls the ship), gunners (who fire the cannons) and crewmen (who repair the ship).

The biggest issue I had with the game are lack of U.S. servers though, but that was about a year ago. I don't know what's changed and I got a refund awhile back.

My thought on Sea of Thieves:
"A thing that I would buy if heavily discounted to leave it there in my library in case I don't have anything else to play, also means that it could be there forever untouched".

Tried it. It's boring. Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag was a way better pirate experiece.
