I had never tasted soy milk, but it sounds terrible. I'll stay with my low fat, or regular, Thanks.

Anything other than whole-fat milk is a sin and bad for you. I will not be saying anything further on the matter.

Soybeans contain isoflavones that's similar to estrogen called phytoestrogen and acts very much the same way in the human body so eating vast amounts of soy and soy-based products can lead to unwanted effects but there is no proven link to cancers like breast cancer.

Soybeans can actually help women who are going through menopause.

So a soyboy is basically a girly boy!

Internet toughguys love to use scientific-sounding ideas to back up their garbage, and at some point they stumbled across the concept of phytoestrogens. Being obsessed with simplistic nonsense like "testosterone manly and good, estrogen feminine and bad", they immediately started treating phytoestrogen-containing foods as something that marked consumers as worthy of mockery, putting forward all sorts of nonsense ideas about how these foods will turn you into a woman or whatever.

It's nonsense, of course, these substances won't harm you in the least (unless like pretty much anything else, you consume them in absurd quantities). The end result is a wonderful bit of irony where the manosphere is so obsessed with masculinity that they're demonstrating that by...showing off their own irrational fear of a bean.

It’s just a buzzword that people use online and are afraid to use in real life.

Soybeans naturally contain relatively high levels of chemicals called "phytoestrogens", which are called that because they're structurally related to mammalian estrogens. There has been some concern that these compounds might have the effect of artificially "feminizing" humans by activating our estrogen receptors. So far, studies have failed to show any convincing evidence that this actually happens, but that hasn't stopped some subcultures from connecting it to vegetarian/vegan and other stereotypes as part of the idea of a man who has been emasculated by modern society.

Here's probably the most straightforward, clearest answer you'll get on the matter.

Some dank memers in this thread though, much respect.

soyboys are effeminate men who like to take selfies with their mouths open, 'soyface'. they're usually annoying vegans (so eat soy, hence the correlation) and say things like "oof", "literally i can't even" and "diversity is our strength" and are in "poly" relationships raising other men's babies

Basically the phytoestrogens in soya are structurally similar to estrogen in both male and females, thus there is a huge misunderstanding that if guys eat soy they will become feminized, this is completely untrue. It is proven soy does not affect hormone levels in either sex, men who consume large amounts of soy won't grow breasts or appear more feminine for example,.

There is a scare that a lot of soy can mess with estrogen levels and increase cancer risks, thyroid problems and infertility. However there is weak evidence to back up this claim. In fact the benefits massively outweigh the potential negative risks with reports of lower cancer rates and other benefits. Asian's have been eating soya for decades and have some of the lowest cancer rates in the world, soya is very healthy and full of nutrients.

But as the old saying goes, anything in excess is bad for you, soya included.

The only thing to avoid with soya is GMO, only go for organic non GMO soya and don't eat it too much, I eat tofu and other soya products a lot due to being vegan but I know how much is too much, its never affected me and I've had it in my diet since I was a little kid. A healthy diet containing soya is great, no matter what ill informed people may think.

Oh wow, I hate it when there are so many conflicting arguments on soybeans and there are articles going back at least a decade or more! Why Google wants to show me an out of date article at the top of the page about soybeans and health is beyond me.
soya beans cooked and eaten = lots of intestinal gas = farts.

therefore i conclude, soyboy = fartboy = full of (foul) air and no substance
