120gb ssd, how much gb of free space should I leave if I don't wanna slow down?
Or experience worse experience. Please, don't tell me to ''buy a new ssd because they are cheap these days''. I'm just searching for a straight answer.

If it`s boot drive with Windows 10 then it`s good idea to have 40 GB free space.

Some people can't afford better hardware and have to make do with less.

With the SSD you may wanna turn off the system protection for your SSD, even though it's good having restore points it can use a big chunk of what you don't have.

Also use something like C cleaner and do your best to install everything to the HDD and not the SSD.

My 500GB SSD uses about 200GB and i have a 1TB storage drive with 300GB used on it.
I'm still thinking about going to Walmart tomorrow and buying that 200 gigabyte SSD for 40 bucks.

Can never go wrong with some
Super speedy storage

But yes, if you got the money definitely go larger. 120GB is only enough for OS and a handful of programs.
that's the answer i needed. 12-24 gb is great, i was trying to save like 40 gb of free space.

Usually you want to have *atleast* like 10 gigs. That's what ive noticed on a few laptops & pcs

By this today standard having 100 GB SSD to store the main OS is kinda too crampy. As above me I also recommend too storing the main OS on a 200 GB-ish SSD.

If it's 120GB and not 128GB - then this been solved already by manufacturer. See, 120GB ones still have 128GB technically, but only 120GB are allowed to fill up, with those extra 8GB being hidden from user exactly so it won't drop performance even if you fill all the available space. If it's 128 one - stick to the number manufacturers agreed on, which is 8GB for every 128GB.

get a 1TB M.2 SSD and don't worry about it :)!

You'll want to set aside about 20% of your hard drive space to keep it running smoothly.

Not good idea to buy anything smaller then 240-250 GB anymore for OS, they should just stop manufacturing smaller ones at all since it`s just waste of resources and times have moved on since SSDs were first introduced.
