I don't understand why League Of Legends is so popular.

Just tried today for the first time. My impressions?

First, it automatically chose wrong region for me and I couldn't change it without making a new account with another region.

Okay, tried playing but I had to finish the tutorial first (must finish) before playing the actual multiplayer game. I was given 8 different legends to chose one from with no explanation about powers and abilities. I chose one with the coolest name.

I understand that I had never played any MOBA in the past so controls looked weird. I could see explanations on what each button does but it was sooo long to read...

That's weird how the launcher and the game are separated, also it installs teamflight tactics gamemode even tho I'm not interested. And as expected in f2p games, there was those pop ups with ''starter pack just for 5 euro'' sign.

Also menus for newcomers are not well organized.

At least the objective of this game is simple and I do like the progression towards new legends. Also the gameplay itself feels very good, polished and optimization is well done.

I just don't understand how it's so popular? And would you recommend me trying Dota 2? I'm not afraid of challenging games but with LOL I'm disappointed.

I agree, I don't get it either. Especially because I've never met a "casual" LoL player. They've all been really passionate about it, which is especially baffling to me. My old friend and I tried to give it a fair chance a few years ago due to another person begging us to try it. We played a few hours and ultimately didn't find it fun. At all.

However, if it makes them happy, I can't judge. I'm just glad they have something in their life that they enjoy.

If Im not wrong it is set on america's default for everyone you should have changed it when you were making your riot account and i dont think i would recommend dota 2 to someone who struggled with league lol

Sure, you can try DOTA2. It is probably a decent game if you are into MOBA. I'm not very much (but i loved Dead Island Epidemic though, bad it is dead).

The og DoTA was fun And Godamn Hard. Dota 2 is more fun And still hard but pretty lit. LoL is more simplified so I guess LoL is popular cuz its basically Dota 2 but more simple. And yeah sure play Dota 2 its fun
