What's your buyer's remorse rate?
Looking at your library (Steam, hard copies, Uplay, Playstation, or otherwise) what percentage of the games you own do you regret?

I'm wondering if it's possible to research and only buy games you like. I always thought I was good at picking games, but damn, I forgot I picked some real clunkers. (I must be the only person on Earth who disliked Borderlands 2.)

I'm lucky if I can stomach playing 80% of the games I even purchased.

Don't know the percentage of regrets but its well over 60%... used to buy games on steam sales and never played them, I was just throwing money away for nothing :( doesn't happen anymore

Now I only buy games that I research first and that look interesting to me. Researching the game your planning too buy is always advisable.

The bundles are a trap. I think I've seen one good bundle in my life.

Eh, I think it's pretty low. Nine times out of ten, if I end up not enjoying a game, I'll just refund it.

One of my few buyer's remorse games would probably be Battalion 1944. It didn't take long for me to drop the game. What a letdown.

Lesson learned: Never buy Early Access.

Been burned twice by early access, I never touch them now myself.

Somewhere around 30%.
70% I´m happy with. 30% Meh.

No refunds.

90% happy, 10% remorse.

A lot. As a mainly indie gamer, many games warped into what I never wanted due to endless updates. As well as some games like 100% orange juice requiring you to buy bullet hell games to unlock characters in its mario party like game...

Also lot of humble bundles. Also most of my games were bought pre-refund system.

Maybe as bad as 70%

Across all my games,,,,

Outerworlds, should've picked up on gamepass first.
Fallout 4, but it was a gift, still a terrible ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
Borderlands 2, I had "acquired" it before and thought it was ok, so I bought it and played through it and never could get into it.
Stellaris, I liked it before the massive overhaul that fundamentally made it an entirely new game.
Ark, mainly because I haven't played it more than 5 minutes since they started selling DLC while still in early access.

Only ones I can think of right off.
Only 1 regret. Just cause 4.
I keep buying open world games like Far Cry and get bored after a few hours.
I got Far Cry 5 on PS4 and it looks nice and isn't badly made but it is boring as ♥♥♥♥.
I have to stop buying those games.

Also Dynasty Warriors. I love old school beat 'em ups so i keep buying Dynasty Warriors games every couple of years or so and they always suck.
But i keep buying them.

Little to none.

There is one game from the recent sale though. I am very disappointed with Bloodstained ROTN. It's seriously just like a cheap asset flip. The graphics are sub par, the animations and combat are janky as hell, the music is pretty awful and the story doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

No idea how it gets such great reviews. Too bad I'm past the refund point now.

My initial reaction was "buyer's remorse? not me!", but then I looked at my game library.

So, for games I'm likely to play again it's about 39%, and those I am unlikely to play again is about 36%. The rest are the ones I haven't gotten around to playing much yet.

For some reason (preoccupation with Steam levels, other badges, etc.), people seem to treat video games unlike most other things they purchase? I cannot imagine bringing home my groceries and only considering 39% of it edible. Buy a new car that only works 39% of the time - I'd be getting my money back for sure!

At least we have refunds nowadays, so we can (hopefully) avoid paying for games we don't want to play in the future.

My buyers remorse rate has got to be high..... I have over 250 games, but I've probably played maybe 20 of them. Like a lot of people I kept buying games on sale.

I miss the days when you could play a demo or rent a game at blockbuster before buying it. I know some games have free weekends, but a lot of the time I was tied up with something else and the sale was going to end. I also don't quite understand how it all works. Do you d/l the whole game just to play it for a weekend?

Anyways, bad choices all around. Wouldn't mind having some of that cash back to buy the new Halo package or RDR2.

I have the opposite problem. Started playing the **** out of it. I enjoyed the hell out of it for a long time. Started talking to others who were playing it online and had some fun with that for a while as wel. But the further you get into the game, the more you see its flaws.

I started transferring to DLC servers and had to spend more and more time online just to maintain what I had. The bugs started piling up.

Then I started seeing the bad in the community, but I kept playing anyways because I'd put so much time into it I didn't want to lose what I'd worked for. I finally quit after I realized that other people's actions in the game were never going to stop effecting me even though I played PVE. I wasn't enjoying the game, I wasn't enjoying the community, and I didn't even care about the Holiday events anymore.

It got to the point where it felt more like a chore than a game. People can't understand how I have 2600 hours in it and gave it a bad review. They can't understand how I refuse to play unofficial, but don't like official rates.

I'd say about five percent. I've bought things that I wound up not caring for later on, but I tend to make informed purchases most of the time so it's not too big of an issue for me.
