Argumentative Essay Topics?
So I've been tasked with finding a topic, for a lot of people this is easy, but I'm finding it really hard to find one that both interests me and has a lot to both sides of it's arguments. Any suggestions? (all are appreciated :^)

What is your biggest interest. Also are their limits to what topics you can pick?

Yeah what sort of topic limits are there, and your interests?

My biggest interest would probably be anything to do with media and changes to do with it. I don't think there are limits since I've heard of a passing essay last year being one which the writer wrote their essay on why they think guys are superior, though I wouldn't feel comfortable going to that point. (Of course if one were to show the writer as racist etc. I doubt that'd pass)

You could make some sort of argument in favour of/against the shift towards digital media/streaming, etc rather than hard copies of films/music, maybe? Or an argument as to which form is better (VHS vs DVD, digital camera vs film)
Gender, its a hot topic right now that everyone loves to hate. Or you could do something more orwellian in the media like you said. CNN has a reputation for distorting the truth to fit their political agenda.
Drugs, guns, homosexuals, porn... Come on man lol
Or maybe you could lean more towards film studies/film critique, and debate whether or not certain film techniques/trends are better than others, etc.

Fox News does the same to the point where it has been consistently parodied.
OP. You could do a topic on the level of social engineering that the media (not just news, but "reality" TV and the like) as a whole plays in developed societies.

Hunting was a natural way of obtaining food for our predecessors. So, what are the reasons to ban it now?
Will robots make us lazier of more efficient?
Are real relationships damaged by unrealistic romantic expectations showed in movies?
Do you think that the traditional moral standards are getting less influential in current society?

You could write an essay about the selective censorship in media.
Or maybe more historical. Which front during WW2 was most key to Allied victory? Which was the most important factor for Japan's turn to militarism in the 30s, etc?

They all do it TBH, i just think CNN is most known for it, thats why if you want to stay up to date on current events i dont recommend you follow any of them.

Weird how that is. When I was growing up, Fox News was the source that was known to blatantly bend the truth. Back when they had Glenn Beck and O'reilly and the rest of those nuts. CNN was actually known to be more neutral towards topics and politics. It seems only recently that has changed. But yeah, I don't watch the news either. Much prefer getting information directly from sources or stuff like LiveUAmap.

Hey! Thats not a bad topic idea. Mainstream News Media vs. Independent Journalism

I'm pretty sure Fox News never deliberately edited footage to smear a sitting president like CNN did in Japan, or CNN did at a Trump rally; i'm pretty sure Fox news never leaked debate questions to a presidential canidate either...like CNN did.

Say what you want about FOX, but CNN is out and out 100% pure cancer. Read Sharyl Attkisson's website or her book "Smear".
