Who Dislikes Epic Games For General Reasons?
Who doesn't like Epic Games not because of their store, but just them in general? I for one don't like that they abandoned Unreal Tournament for Fortnite, even though I have not played Unreal Tournament (I did try out a UT for Doom), but the games look a ton of fun.

I would be perfectly okay with them existing alongside Steam, but that's not what's happening here.

I'm of the opinion that exclusivity is NOT healthy for the gaming community, and the Epic Games store making certain games EGS-exclusive is slimy at best and actively damaging to the gaming community at worst. There were plently of games that I was at least curious to try out until I found out they were Epic Games store exclusive. Borderlands 3, World War Z, Untitled Goose Game. I resorted to getting these games on console to experience them.

On top of that, there's no option to review and read reviews of games on the store. I depend on Steam reviews pretty heavily to make my decision to purchase a game, so to hear that the Epic games store doesn't have it's own equivalent puts a bad taste in my mouth.

They have impressed me with their earlier games they have distributed and game engine is good for most things but their current model EG is doing disgustings me.

Finally they hit the big one with Fortnite? What about Unreal, Unreal Tournament and Gears of War? All wildly influential titles.

Epic scrapped the new UT and threw a very big tantrum over GoW1's PC port, but they do more good than harm thanks to their robust and extensible engine. My beef with them is still mostly related to EGS exclusivity.

I don't like any of their games and at first I strongly despised when every game started using the same engine, I was used to console games that usually had their own engine made specifically for them and I felt like the same engine made everyt game look the same but probably it was also what the developer wanted, making so many fps games many of them based on realistic military I'm sure they wanted those games to look like that (and therefore look similar to each other). Today I am used to have games that don't come with their own engine it does not bother me that much anymore. There are games with wonderful art style still today (probably more than that particular period when only realistic looking games about realistic wars, about realistic crimes and other boring and depressing and sad realistic stuff that had to be realistic because otherwise you were pathetic were being released) so I don't care too much anymore. It was more interesting before when games had different engines everytime but it is still good enough now. So besides their awful store I have no other reason to hate them, the fact that I don't like their games is not a reason to hate them. Their store and their behaviour is.

I dislike that they Auto-Update Games, & when you Un-Install Games, they Re-Install by themselves... I dislike when your Account Auto-Sends Friend Requests to people
you never intended to send Requests to...

That is also I have issues with...

i dislike the epic platform due to how hypocritical its tell that you want more choice in the market then essentially attempt to remove choices from it

They're alright in my book.

I just hope the next Holiday sale they offer the same deal as before. The free games also help out.

There are no "Epic Games" but "Games at Epic", which should be analyzed case by case / game by game.

Isn't Fort Nite an EPIC Game?

It's probably their only Game... No?

Their account security and verification sucks.
What, you don't want to get locked out of your account because it was spammed with login attempts from India and China?

Even better, I don't want to be told that I have an Epic account by failed login attempts because someone used one of my e-mails to make it, and they had no e-mail verification to let me know that an account was created!

So I basically had to take control of the account (seeing as I had control of my mail - that wasn't compromised), tell the Epic folks that they should delete that account right now, and then looked into what authority I can report that to that could force them to implement e-mail verification.

The fact that they plugged UT like that still stings.

I played the Alpha and it was very enjoyable. Far better than whatever Quake Champions was trying to go for.
