My girlfriend doesn't want me to play games
She hates games and wants me to spend all my time only on her or on house chores. We plan to have children later this year. She claims I will not have time anyway for games once we have a baby!
I'm worried because I really want to have a family but I also love playing games.

I had an ex who Hated me playing videogames. That was a great indicator for me to exit.

If you enjoy vidiocy that is part of who you are and what you enjoy. What else does she dislike?

Prioritize. If you still wanna game and have family then you may need to rethink your time allocation.. because as soon as you have family/kids your "free time" is really scant.

Seriously? You're going to give up a chance to have a family over video games? Pixels? When I settle down if I gotta sell my ♥♥♥♥ then I'll do it. Make sure she's the right woman though but the fact you're more concerned about your video games is pathetic.

Get rid of her.

There are literally billions of women on the planet. She's not one of a kind. Dump her.

more than anything no matter what my views are I don't try to pass judgment on people that different from me as much as possible. Of course we all judge, but let's not attack people for not getting married, it's 2020 for f's sake.

Now you're just using deflection because you know that you can't back up your initial false assertion that "Marriage is an antiquated social contract bound to religion, property rights, and possession."

He’s not playing some sort of game here. It’s an objective fact that men have the short end of the stick when it comes to marriage.

What do women do to them, chase them out of their mother's basement? *rolls eyes*

You can't both have a family and be a dedicated gamer. She is looking from a realistic perspective, so don't take that as a damage to your freedom or anything. It's a good time for you to also be realistic and live a dedicated life with your family and go travel or something if you have to.

Talk to her sincerely (and seriously), tell her that it's something you really like to do. You need to have personal space... we all need that.
Gaming will not make you a bad father or a bad husband, as long as you know how to balance priorities. Your girlfriend should understand.
Don't listen to people who simply tell you "leave her!", they don't understand that you have a relationship with a woman you love. In mature relationships there are responsibilities on both sides.
You don't have to choose between one thing or another, you two must simply agree and balance times.
Your girlfriend surely has hobbies, right? She wouldn't want to abandon them either, use that in your favor.

You should follow this advice.

Your woman is not entirely wrong tho, especially when your family is expecting a baby. It's a huge responsibility. Both of you will be drained and expect countless of sleepless nights ahead. There's no way she can handle your kid alone.

You sure can. You can also have a family and be a dedicated LARPer, which takes even more personal investment than gaming. It's all about getting your relationship dynamic sorted to work for your relationship rather than trying to fit into cookie-cutter forms you see around you.

Now sure when you've got a newborn, you'll need to budget your time differently, but no, it's not "the end of an era and nothing is ever the same again".

Ah, deflection I do like that tactic. I'm sure not going to waste my time explaining to you my "false assertion". How about we'll agree to disagree, but yeah I didn't come up with this on my own. You can read this though to enlighten yourself. You can find references to the same arguments in other online articles or in any history books. I thought this was common knowledge but I guess you're a little behind. if you're calling me wrong and then you're calling everybody else that has a general consensus of the same thing that they are wrong too, but okay I guess we're all wrong. You just keep on keepin on and I'm guessing believe some alternative facts that circulate everywhere nowadays and you live in your own little la la Land. Ignorance is bliss, keep it up and please do your part and don't go vote if you're voting age until you read up some more, for the sake of the rest of us.

Why not? If top league athletes (traveling around to matches, training, sponsorship deals, etc...) can have families, why can't gamers?

I'd kind of like to hear the girlfriend's side before I jump on this Reddit-tier "dump her" bandwagon.

Because they are earning money and not wasting time. :)
