My girlfriend doesn't want me to play games
She hates games and wants me to spend all my time only on her or on house chores. We plan to have children later this year. She claims I will not have time anyway for games once we have a baby!
I'm worried because I really want to have a family but I also love playing games.

If you enjoy vidiocy that is part of who you are and what you enjoy. What else does she dislike?

Prioritize. If you still wanna game and have family then you may need to rethink your time allocation.. because as soon as you have family/kids your "free time" is really scant.

If she prevents you from playing games, who knows what she will prevent in the future

Get rid of her.

Well you have to make a choice (sacrifice)
Get rid your game OR your girlfriend
welcome to reality bro
unless you're rich and/or powerful (in term of knowledge and capability) you don't have much choice

Find someone less selfish that understands your needs as well as hers.

I just had a daughter who is now four months. It varies for everyone but I found myself playing more games since I can't leave the house sometimes but have nothing else to do and baby sleeps a lot.

BUT we don't know the entire story. If you spend too many hours gaming then the compromise it to reduce the game time so you can help out around the house.

girl wants guy to spend less time playing video games to prepare for responsibility of having a child

steam: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DUMP HER THAT ♥♥♥♥♥

Maybe you can just compromise and spend less time, you can still find time but it's true you are hardly going to have any time when you have a baby around

It’s all about balance. If she notices you’re gaming too much. She might be right. Take breaks and help her out with chores.

get of your high horse people. gaming by it's nature requires you to be selfish and you really should avoid making family with "gamers". just think about having a gamer dad for a moment (you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥)

this is also true for other jobs like marines and stuff where father is pretty much nonexistant in family (looking at you kujo jotaro)

Buy her a puppy and tell her to feed, play and care for it daily.

If she ever complains, buy her a puppy simulator video game.

Here you go:

Just imagine it. you thrown your PC away to get such an idyllic setting. 2 days later and your finger nails are digging into the sofa, desperate to reward that part of your brain with gaming, a longing an urge to seek such a thing.

2 weeks later and you are bouncing off the walls crazy looking for your computer.

2 months later you are in a lunatic asylum gone so crazy have you that you aren't able to express you need to play computer games.

2 years later you die from computer game withdrawl. xD

Gaming is just a hobby. There's absolutely no need to stop gaming completely. Responsibilities come first, but you'll have time to game too. Later on gaming together with your child may become hobby which you share (my case).

Honestly, doesn't sound like a good start, if your gf hates your hobby and tries to control the situation too much. Maybe out from fear, maybe not. Either way I would have serious conversation about what loving someone means.

I hope you two can figure it out in a good way.
