pc restarts whenever i watch youtube

this might not be fit for steam sorry about that but i thought anyone of you guys know the issue or something my pc automatically restarts when i watch youtube and my specs arent bad either

geforce rtx 2060 super

i7 9700k

16gb ram

western digital re 2 tb 3.5 7200rpm hdd

750 power supply

its a new pc my friend built it a week ago does anyone know whats the issue and how to fix it?

Just because it's new doesn't mean the parts are good.

Your friend built it, but do they have a clue what they're doing?

Have you done a hard drive disk check to find errors?

i mean the parts came with great packaging and all it seems fine to me my friend also built my prev pc and i had no problems with it (except the weird fan noise problem that i have even on this one) and no idk how to do a hard drive disk check

games work perfectly and everything the only issue is the annoying auto restart

You would need to find the reason for the critical error or more likely kernel error. I would run a memory test at least.

Is it when going to youtube, clicking play or during or after a video or does it do it randomly.

What OS, what Browser. Need more info to suggest more, possibly a browser bug, try another.

no its when im watching a video for a bit i saw that it might be a heat issue but that cant be true right? i have 7 pc fans... also i have no idea what critical errors or even kernals are if you can tell me what they are or how to run a memory test that would be great

what if the ram had an issue or something can it be fixed with the pc somehow or does it mean the ram is completely broken? i really have no money to buy another ram :/

Have you tried another browser like chrome?

Do videos run inside Steam?

If it is ram, depending on how your set up is you may be able to remove one and still play.

It may just need taking out and putting back, dust etc..

Weirdly enough videos work on steam and from the windows photos/videos but not from the browser

Ok i did this and the memory check finished it says no problems were found soo is there anything else i should do? If not ill test it now by watching an hour long video

Oh that's super good to know. I'm glad it was something software and not a hardware issue, because I do know how frustrating that can be.
