Imagine Steam being made with the same "originality" as Epic Games Launcher.
It would be called Valve Game Launcher, or something extremely unoriginal.

Steam is better even on such small things.

Not only that, but Epic's doing the Peasant trick.
They're handing out "Sanctum" and "Goat Simulator" as gifts.

Wow. Two medicore games. I'm impressed. And I have to share the same Launcher and userbase Fortnite kids use, can't review a game and use forms.

90% of fortnite players are kids with no money. Number of players using epic launcher because of fortnite has made Epic very ambitious. But they have to try very very hard to give steam any real competition. Highly unlikely in my opinion. But due to the fact there are millions of kids literally growing up playing fortnite with epic launcher might create a possibility for epic to finally beat steam in future when these kids finally grow up but for it to happen fortnite hype among kids has to continue.

for that , fortnite would need to actually stay relevant for years , not just a while like most mainstream games , does anyone still care about pubg ? fortnite isnt even 2 years old so far , for kids to grow up with it , fortnite would need to stay relevant and epic to actually get games besides fortnite

That's what i'm saying. PubG still has one of largest playerbase on steam though. Epic game store has already got a large number of games and they are also giving away a game every week from what i have heard. They are offering a 88% share of revenue to the developers but they lack the community thats actually going to buy games on epic so it really means nothing at the moment. But if epic succeed in keeping the fortnute kids happy and busy on epic which is an almost impossible task considering only other game epic has of theire own is Unreal Tournament which may never become as popular as fortnite.

The funniest part about all this might be this[cdn.discordapp.com]
The game they want to giveaway for free isn't even available on the store yet :emofdr:

It's still a disgrade that they ditched this. Sure. Screw over the fanbase which made you what you are today.

Not their first time either.
They ditched PCs to focus on the console market for a while until they realized that... well sh*t, PC market is still popular and lucrative :goggles:

You know Volvo is scared when they lock my thread explaining how Epic > Volvo
This is the beginning of the end. Rise and shine, Mr. Gaben. Wake up, and smell the ashes.

Why does everybody jerk off to the so called "competition" when this is most likely going to be "Epic Store Exclusive" instead of competition. Competition means that you can choose on which platform you're buying and using your games.

Exactly!

this whole competition thing will amount to nothing, it'll just be yet another platform people have to download to keep track of games, but i wont buy into it, steam is king

They're a long way from taking over.

Well hey epics giving away a free game every two weeks so I'm not complaining I'm getting free ♥♥♥♥.

But honestly I am mad that steam changed their revenue tier to help big developers and hurt indie studios that makes me like steam less.

why does it bother you , they most likely have reasons to do this
