Battlefield V is it worth it ?

So as the title says is the game worth it ? its currently on sale for 40 bucks and im curious if its worth a shot ?

Have you played any other battlefield games? I played them all and I would say, while it is still fun, the series plays less and less like the past battlefield games. BF1 was better maps by far and felt more raw I guess. BF4 and before play extremely different and you get the sense you are in a war on a battlefield. This feels like a canned, more arcady, fast paced, less open experience. I mean with the planes the maps are so small you basically fly in circles the whole time. None of the maps so far are any well known WW2 battle. Those will probably come behind a paywall of DLC, if at all. Just doesn't feel like WW2.

It's not bad, and for $40 I'm torn to say that it's worth it. There are other games out now I find myself playing more of. Depends what else you would use that $40 on I guess.

Not sure. I remember it being ass in the beta though. However I have to add that I was playing on PC, not sure if the issues are also on console

Personally, I'd steer clear. The gameplay is pretty dang bad.

At least that was the case with the beta and most of the core issues I have are part of the gameplay itself so I highly doubt they'll patch those out.

Nice, thanks for the info. Never looked it up and just assumed it would be like the previous games in the series. Yea I'm bored with the maps already and the progression in much shallower than in previous titles too so maybe some added content will get me playing more, we'll see

There's an interesting story I want to share with you. A few days ago, it was reported that BFV was struggling in the market, the sales numbers for BFV was pretty bad compared to BF1's sales numbers. Maybe like a day or 2 days later, DICE celebrated their Christmas party by bringing back all the toxic comments about BFV, just to mock those who criticised the game. It was a stupid move from them and it's gonna convinces more people to avoid this game. Stuffs like their recent party controversy makes me really want to question DICE's attitude. My question to them, why the hell will you bring back the ugly past? Just focus on improving BFV and think more about positive stuffs instead of negatives.

Even funnier seeing people who spent the whole run up to release calling others snowflakes and swj's and all that pish get immediatly triggered. Delicate wee things.

BF5 is great i think. Harder, much more squad focused, can't lone ranger it. Additional content will be free so the playerbase won't be split.
If you enjoyed the others you'll probably enjoy this.

I've seen the complete opposite. People don't even bother joining a squad or just prefer to do their own thing.

There's zero tactical gameplay.

Why am I not surprised? I've bought all in the series except Hardline, and I mean all, even BF2 and and 1942 and so on. My favorites were Battlefield 1943, Bad Company 2+Vietnam, and 4. I would go so far to say, BF1943 being set in WW2 obviously, was so good and I played many hours of it, despite it being a limited scope game and only cost I think $15 or $30, but it beats this BFV in many ways even. One, is that it feels like WW2 actually in both setpieces and gameplay, which is kind of the point right? It's sad that this feels like a condensed version of WW2 with shiny graphics. It's still fun, but not as fun as the other games I'm playing right now, and not nearly as fun as the past Battlefields.

Point is, I'm not liking where this is headed either and DICE and EA seem to be among many now that are acting the same way.
