Sort of? Why? You can turn that off in most games.

I like using it. I guess I've just gotten used to it, because I can see how it could be distracting.
Yeah. I opened up my logitech f710 and disconnected the rumblers. I get at least %30 more battery life out of it now
Don't mind it. I mean it's not going to sway me one way or the other when it comes to deciding if I like a game.

i find it distracting to my driving i was lapping the nordschlife and this really bumpy section of the track was super annoying so i turned it off i think you can tone it down though which is great so i will have to try that at some point

Generally speaking, No. However, I have played numerous games where rumble is used excessively and quite strongly, it gets to the point where the next day my hands are numb and my wrists ache a little. Yes, I know in some games you can turn it off or from the controller itself....

Not at all. The vibration is generally a warning sign that something has spotted me / is about to happen / whatever. Or it just fits the scene for other reasons.

Vibrations don't just randomly happen.

As someone who usually sticks with singleplayer games, I like vibration for the most part, as it enhances feedback in sequences where it'd make sense. You can always turn vibration off in just about every controller-supported game though.

I have a Controller type Device for every situation...

I use them for many different things...

I like a variety of Options... =D

I game with a Non-Rumble PS2 type PC Controller,
a Rumble PS2 type PC Controller... Both every, very early USB Controllers...

I got 3 USB Modern Fight Sticks... a PS3 Duel Shock Six Axis Controller,
a PS3 Cooling fan controller with no Rumble...
I got an X-Box 360 Controller...

I got Mouse & Keyboard with Macros on both

I got 2 Move Controllers for VR Gaming & Non-VR Gaming...

I got PS3 Six Axis Controllers for Flying, Racing, & Reloading Guns...

I got a STEAM Controller with several many different functions...

I've even got Turbo based Controllers, & such...
Wireless & Wired Controllers, as well as chargable ones...

I've got a Customizable NES Fight Stick, an NES Flight Stick, & NES Blaster,
I even got Wireless X-Box Original Controllers...

Why do I have all of this, & not stick to 1 type to Game with?

Because honestly? Different Games play better with different
Controllers, & Devices, & I like a good challenge sorta...

Most people will play using the same chars, the same weapons,
& the same Controllers or Mouse & Keyboard all the time, get used
to it, & get better... It makes them stronger...

But I? Say, that makes it too easy then, i'd rather give them a handy cap,
& still beat them by purposely putting me on a weaker level then them, ^_-

If I am able to keep up with them no matter how I play, then i'm clearly on
a whole nother level playing field, right?

Plus it's always nice to try something new, or different every now & then...
a nice change of pace is always good...

Anyways, off topic... Back on Topic? Rumble, or Duel Shock?
It does not bother me as much as it did in the past, because
in the past it was such a big problem trying to get these things
to function correctly at all... They finally gotten the Devices to work right...

Now I don't have much problems anymore with it...

What don't you like about it? Is it the way it feels in the hands?
I can understand that... You would maybe like 1 Controller I have...

1.) PS3 Controller actually has a Custom Rumble Feature,
you can choose how much Rumble is being used, & how heavy it is...

2.) My first Rumble PS2 like Rumble PC Controller had a Switch Option...
Heavy = Heavy Rumble but very short
Long Rumble = Very little Rumble but rumbles for longer time
Medium Setting = Rumbles in a set pattern both Heavy & Light...
It also had a No-Rumble Option... Off...
It also had a Switch for D-Pad & Left Joystick Option...
But it has no Home Button, for an Overlay...

Yes I always turn it off, it can be really dangerous it is not worth the risk.
For like 7 or 8 years I didn't notice anything, but I really play a lot and eventually playing games with vibration began to be really painful, it really makes my wirsts and hands hurt a lot and I couldn't play much with that function turned on anymore.
Not that I would care, I never cared much about it, it felt cool in Silent Hill at first maybe... just at first... I don't even remember... other than that I've always thought that it was a stupid useless gimmick and never cared but I never bothered to turn it off eother.
Of course once it started to hurt I turned it off and I am sorry to see that my hands are that vulnerable, but I don't miss it at all. I still think that it is a stupid useless gimmick just like I did when I played Starfox 64 the first time.
Back then since it was necessary to put a device on the joypad to use that function I did not even use it most of the time, just because it was not worth it.
Silent Hill is still the only example I can think of that it was used in a smart way... not something really necessary anyway, but at least they used it in a slightly more meaningful way...

Dang that totally sux, but from my experience...

It seems most things dealing with Computers will give you arthritis in your Hands...

Both Keyboard & Mouse, & Controllers, weather you have Rumble or not,
will all give Arthritis... Handling Scissors at home, & Carts at stores,
also give Arthritis...

Even Touch Screen to me is crazy bad for us... After using really, really sensitive
Hand Gestures on a really sensitive Screen for like about 2 to 3 Years now...

My finger tips are already feeling like their inflamed to the point that I can feel it
almost all the time now... Especially when using a Phone, or Keyboard... o_@

Large Screens, & even 24 inch 1080P Monitors, or boxed small 4:3 TV's can
induce major migraine Head Aches, so I mean, it kinda sux, but when it comes
down to it... Those who are able to get away without Arthritis & horrible migraines,
are just lucky...

So, I mean, it's not for everyone... I guess...

This is actually the first i've heard of anyone actually getting hand problems
from just a Rumble inside a Controller before, though...

Have you ever heard of the phrase "less is more"?
