Why are third party sites cheaper?
Why are Green Man Gaming and Fanatical cheaper than Steam?

Third-party resellers bypass Steam's 30% cut.

I get that, but there are a few exceptions, and third-party resellers can choose to pass some of their per-unit revenue onto customers in exchange for more competitive pricetags.

The are authorized resellers.

remember that Steam offers the forums, feedback, reviews, and the confidence in refunding when a product isn't working right within reason.

Not all - even legit - sellers, can offer any or all of those things.

You get what you pay for.

Also: reward the people who made the games. Buying it at all is important.

Well, they are Steam keys.

Anyone can post on the forums and anyone that plays the game can write a review, the only feature you don't get is the refund.
They sell it cheap since they buy it in wholesale and if they don't sell them for cheap no one is gonna buy from them in the first place
