Your opinion on vegan and vegetarian diets?
Over the years, there has been many reasons brought up as to why one should take up a vegan or a vegetarian diet, and many have different reasons as to why they chose to do so. What do you personally think about vegetarian diets as well as vegan diets and their impact on both themselves and the world? Since they are quite different, I'd find it more reasonable to present seperate opinions on both.

If you are a vegan or a vegetarian, how did you come to decide on becoming one, and what changes has it brought to your life? How long have you followed this diet, and how is it going for you?

Feel free to discuss that on this thread.

Perhaps I’ll have a better understanding if you supply me with an actual source. What am I supposed to make of “China Study”?

It's the book i'm referencing.

It's the Grand Pri of this type of population study

And ps. The effects have been noted throught the world.

Many sufferers of ailments are meat eaters and not long tiime vegans
@CARLOS You do understand people can enjoy food, right? We don't all see meal time as some clinical process of nutrient absorption.

Animal products are the best source of protein.
Restrain yourself from whatever you want to not eat, but humans can digest both meat and veggies, and honestly getting sacrificed in a farm where they took care of you sounds way less painful than being eaten alive by a predator.

I'm not sure about the latter since we still hunt and/or process pigs, chickens, and most of other white meat that aren't dangerous to humans.

The strongest animals are herbivores - Elephants gorrilas, cows, oxen,

i Did not understand what you meant by the last sentence.

We get enough and COMPLETE Protein from plant sources, they Don't need to be as DIVERSE as you might assume

And no, false, we cannot digst meat as good as we can plants, we don't Have the body adaptation necassary, intestines are shorter, teeth and jaw meant For grinding plants not ripping meat.

Take a look at pictures of carnivores/omnivores/herbivores and you'll see what i mean
I looked at enough pictures of teeth. We have teeth to both grind meat and eat vegetals. Don't believe me? Look up "canine teeth". That's just one of the sets that allows us to eat meat.

The human stomach can digest both, doesn't matter if one can be digested better than the other. IF, not THAT. IF.

About that last part, biology class, fourth year, "the proteins we need are found in major quantity in animal cells".

It's not aout not enjoying food bro, ive been enjoying my food better as a vegan.

also fat added t o meals doesn't count as it's basically cheating..

Look at popular meals and they're all accompanied by veggies. Meat by it's own is just meh. you always need to accompany it with soething else
They can eat whatever they want, just don’t tell me to stop eating meat.

*aggressively munching on a rare steak*

Dunno about other people, but even my molars are sharp enough that I managed to cut my tongue on them multiple times before.

Guess I’m destined for a mostly-meat diet.

Diet for a new AMerica

Meat is for Pu$$ies. etc etc
And some vegans wonder why we, meat-eaters, look upon them as jokes. I don’t mind vegans, but I do mind ignorance.

Nice talking to you, Carlos. I hope you’ll receive the help that’s necessary to counter your veganism. Did you know that individuals who suffer from veganism are 10 times more likely to die alone?

True! I prefer the steak to have as much of its natural flavor as possible.
Been vegan in my diet for about the last three or four years. Initially it was just in solidarity with my then partner who was trying it, since any habit change like a diet is easier to stick to if you aren’t doing it alone. I agreed with the moral argument of course, but nonetheless, for me personally at that point it was mainly an interesting intellectual exercise - it certainly teaches you a lot about what you’re eating and why.

But the moral argument slowly became a primary reason as I considered the question “would I ever stop this diet”. Because the answer is no. Now that I’ve established for myself that I don’t need to eat animals and animal products, I can’t justify going back to doing so.
Eat what you want to eat. I will be happy to try out new foods and recipes that vegans, vegitarians, or other culture suggests. Just don't judge or tell me I am wrong to be eating what I want to eat or if I decide I don't want to try it.
My Wife is Vegetarian with the exception of eating Salmon and buys many vegan items at the store and eats vegan meals all the time. She has done this since she and I were 18 and now she is 31. I presonally can't imagine not having a hambuger for the last decade, but more power to her. It does seem to take hard work and I know off the top of my head takes b vitamins, iron, vit D, omega 3 supp and magnesium and uses these vegan protein shakes called Soylent.

She does it because she can't help think of the animals and what they go through and it does come with some pro's health wise. She doesn't judge me for not being vegetarian and admits for a guy it would be even harder if not unhealthy unless much dedication was put into it. I tend to eat vegan or vegetarian meals with her all the time and mostly enjoy them and even like some of the vegan substitutes and prefer them now to the food they are imitating. Other's we agree to disagree

I add some meat when I want and she doesn't care, but she won't cook it for me usually unless she is cooking for guests also.
imo vegetarian can be tasty , like pizza, its great vegetarian food ( only salami and pizza with ham isnt vegetarian )

i also love eating noodles , stuff with cheese and so on , i just dont get why you would eat vegan , cheese is tasty and so are other things , same with eggs , a vegan cant even eat cake or anything thats made out of eggs , wouldnt want to live without those things
