NWN2 OC: Defend Castle Never quest: bug fix :'( #MeToo

this bug can happen in neverwinter nights 2 official campaign even with final version, during the Defend Castle Never quest. the problem is that after you exit Neverneath and get back in the castle, you'll be greeted by a black screen which lasts a few seconds and lord nasher will instantly talk to you through the walls. the Reaver in the room will just stand still, there's no battle with it, also the quest Defend Castle Never won't be completed - it will just stay in your journal and won't give you the 500 exp

some people suggest that you should take the rod from the tomb then just get rid of it - either drop it anywhere or put it back in tomb. it's true that by doing so you'll get no black screen, but there won't be battle with reaver, lord nasher won't talk to you unless you talk to him first, but the quest still won't complete and won't give you 500 exp.. it's basically the same problem nothing else

the solution is this - you fight your way to the entrance of Neverneath, but don't enter yet. go to the south or a bit south-east of the throne room and pay attention to the map. now save your game, wait a few seconds, then reload the new save - if everything works ok, you should now see a new portion of the map - there's a new room connected to the back of throne room. you can see it on the map, and you can also see it through the walls even if there's no window or way to reach it yet. if this happens, game's good and you should save again. go to neverneath, do the quiz puzzle, and when you get back in the castle from the other end, no black screen, you fight a Reaver (but you can't kill it yet) and after you defeat it, lord nasher will automatically talk to you, quest Defend Castle Never will successfully complete and you get your 500 exp..

PS: some walkthrough says that if you do everything right in Neverneath, all 6 chests should be unlocked, but idk about that - whatever i did, the chests were still locked and i had to bash them, and lose some of the loot.. :-/
