Let's talk about plebs and their consoles

I, a magnificent specimen of the one true master race, have researched for the past few hours, plebs and their console peasantry and i will share with you my findings.

It seems that the plebs, in an atempt to defend their clearly inferiour gaming platform, have revealed to me how truly garbage their primitive devices are.
All the arguments for defending the console can be reduced to 2 simple statements:
"I'm too stupid."
"I'm too lazy."
Note that some may combine the above into dangerous levels of peasntry. They are a special breed, even amongst their own. Disgusting, i know, but bear with me.

Now, we will expand the 2 statements.

You will often hear them say something like "I don't buy a pc beacause i don't want to buy new parts every 2 months/1 year and the maintanance is too expensive", "BUT GREAT WIZARD..." you may say, "How can a savage have such a coherent speech?", they do not, all the quotes have been translated by highly educated and superiour PC Gamer scientists, a normal sentence in their language may look something like this: "loool if u want to buyy neuw hardvare pices evfery 2 monts yea go ahead buy a pc". Savages... Now back to the matter at hand, the above quote only shows their ignorance and lack of knowledge. if they would bother to read at least one word per week, they would know that buying some high-end hardware can easly hold out for at least 4 years.
One of my favorites "I buy the console, plug it and play. With the pc i have to build it first and it's easy to mess up, then install an OS...". This one just shows they are not capable and willing to learn what can take a maximum of 30 minutes if you really have no ideea about anything.
The next one is a classic "But, but my exclusives" With a single google search you will find out that the PC has more exclusives that all the consoles combined.
The quotes above and the likes of it enters the "I'm too stupid" statements.

Let's move on with the next statement. "I'm too lazy".
Here you will find the likes of "If i want to sit on the couch and play games with my friends i have to move the entire pc, all the cables, keyboard, mouse... With the console it's simple". A maximum of 10 minutes to move in another room, too hard for a weak beta.
"I have to research what hardware is best, aaaahh, it's gonna take days". As you can see, the mere fact that he has to do research is beyond a pleb.
"With the pc you have to keep drivers up to date." At this point I am dying, i can't continue as it is already 7 Am.

There is an obvious pattern in every dirty console peasant argument: Simplicity. Simple platform for simple people.

To anyone that wonders why consoles still exist, it is simple, they can't die instantly. If you had a console 20 years ago i would understand as it was more accessible than a pc, now a pc is like a sonic screwdriver from "Doctor Who", it is better than anything at anything. The consoles are dying and the reason they don't disappear instantly is beacause making them is someone livelihood, simple. I will give consoles between 50 and 100 years before they disappear completly

Maybe i will write a full report on this savages, name it "Codex of Plebian Pravum"... maybe in my free time, beacause i'm not a scholar only when it comes to gaming but also in real life.

With all things said and done, try not to hate the pleb, but enlighten him.

how are consoles more enjoyable and fun ? they play some games pc has as well , but at far worse framerate if a game is fun on console , its more fun on pc

the only thing some console games do is reward you for every little thing , a typical example would be zelda games with its jingles after everything you do , cooking alot of meals in botw ? play a soundtrack every single time you collect something , woohoo , same with rupees , if i have 10k i dont need a special jingle for picking up 20 or 50 rupees

console games often focus on making it feel like you are the biggest hero and idk what else , then they hold your hand and guide you through a corridor and at the end it tells you that you are the greatest , thats something other games do as well , but from my experience console games all fall into this category , award the player for everything he does

ofc you will like a game that tells you you are great , but these always are the same , link always is the only capable guy with a sword in the entire kingdom , at one point it becomes repetetive , i mean how many console games show you as the one guy that takes down entire kingdoms , castles , zombie hordes etc

Name a game where you play as the average person or even a disadvantaged person though, most science fiction and fantasy games or films feature people with superpowers unless they are social commentaries.

Consoles are fun since you turn them on. On Pc you have to turn it on, choose your game, load it, and then the fun starts. Consoles are toys themselves. You start playing since the very first moment you touch those things. Computers are tools. They are not fun until you tell them they have to entertain you.
Console are specifically made to be fun.

It is also a way to convince you to buy more things and spend more money, of course. But it is also fun, much more fun than any digital store on PC.

If these plebs are so bad then it would stand to reason that you want them to continue playing their Ohboxes and their Gamestations, serving a valuable purpose by not infecting the PC community with their plebness.

you can just turn a pc on and start a game from a desktop icon , its the same as clicking on the wii game channel icon in a wii , loading a game on pc doesnt take longer than maneuvering to the wii channel on the wii , or whatever its called on xbox and playstation , the days where consoles just straight up loaded a game are over , they all are multimedia things now
computers being tools doesnt matter , just because they have office tools like excel and word doesnt mean they cant play games , in fact they play games better than consoles

the wii channel having upbeat music and all doesnt make it better , when it comes down to it , its still a store where you have to spend real money, only its converted into a store currency which is an abstract number so you dont realize how much money you are actually paying for an old game

sims has extremly happy music for buying things , simply so you enjoy spending hours decorating houses while burning all the money your sims earned ( or the money you got from spaming motherlode for 3 minutes)

at most , its worse , because the wii was owned by many kids and old people and distracting them with cheerful music from the fact you are charging them way too much for crappy ports of old games is a shady thing to do

and when it comes down to it, you still are spending money on both stores , if one makes you not realize you are burning money on something thats not even really a license ( as the wii had no account system so no account your purchases could be tied to ) thats not better

well , in most mmorpgs you arent an almighty hero from the start , same with many rpgs , you rather progress over time and become strong enough to take care of enemies, in ff13 an adamantoise is far above your level the first time you see one

You mean the PSVita interface probably :D

I love the Wii interface (the only thing I would change is that I would make Photo Channel compatible with classic controllers too, it was not for no real reason)

Anyway @Sakura Haruno I was self aware enough to enjoy Wii channels tunes and catchy little things without getting distracted or ruin myself spending all my money in things I did not want. Using a console like this is much more pleasant, fun and satisfying than using a computer for me, if you don't appreciate those things and prefer a computer it's just a matter of different tastes.

Today I too prefer a computer but for different reasons (being scammed by Shuntaro Furukawa and his offensive subscription left a bad taste in my mouth - not to mention how I felt in a metaphorical lower part of my body) but if Wii was still alive and officially supported I would still be playing with it along with my computer because even though now even I know that computers undeniably ARE better, a TRUE console gives me things I really enjoy and want and a computer cannot give me, or at least is not as effective as a console in that regard.

You have to understand, in the early 90s computers were so awfully horrible that some people could have tried them, decided that they didn't want to touch them never again and they still speak with this experience in mind. I could understand, the trauma could have been very bad. I could have ended up being like that myself... I probably would be by now if I was not interested in computer graphics so I wanted to have a computer too anyway.
Computers back then were awful and extremely expensive.
And exclusives on consoles were much better than they are today.
And many genres were almost exclusively on consoles. Not just exclusive games, but entire genres.
I hated computers for so many years!
