Are anime and cartoons the same?
I think they are but a friend of mine disagrees

I just think of both terms being under the umbrella term for animation

Are you suggesting anime can't be enjoyed by adults? There are some VERY adult anime vids out there.

you miis an episode of star vs forcess of evil and doesnt matter casue its self contained episode

Theyre both cartoons its just different cultures making them and the style isnt exclusive to each side either since theres plenty of japanese cartoons in the same look and style as the west when you look for them. Hell Manga and Manwha are literally the same thing as comics or graphic novels to me, just with me usually reading right to left instead and maybe a difference in cultural jokes or mannerisms.
