Forgot android pattern, cannot use phone
I know it probably seems unreasonable, but i made a pattern that i forgot shortly after. I switched from my PIN because i felt a pattern would be more secure, so i made a simple pattern, then re-entered it, without giving it much thought. I immedietly forgot it as i locked my phone and tried to unlock it with no success. Im using a Nokia 2.1 with android 8.1 oreo "go edition[?]" im now stuck at a screen, telling me to enter my pattern to use android. So im basically completely locked out.

if you care for the data on the phone i dont know if you dont theres probably a combination to hard reset the device and erase the password look up "phone name hard reset combination" this is one is on my phone:

turn off your device
hold volume down and power until the carrier logo shows up and release
it could also be volume up an power i do not know
you will be brought back to the setup screen

and yeah be careful with those tools luckily ive never ran into a issue where ive have to use adb i always use pins cause i can save them in a encrypted text file with a password i have written down and hidden with backups on a usb/paper same with the encrypted file

Can try searching for it or contacting Nokia, there might be a recovery option.

Otherwise, you'll have to reset the phone

Im fine with restarting it, actually looked up a few articles but with no success, either the wrong android edition, or just flat out useless information

have you tried failing the pattern a few times?

and if you're fine with formatting it, not losing anything important, then yeah just do that then.

I've heard that, using android studio you can format the phone: "Turn on your Android phone and connect it to a USB port on your computer. Type “adb shell” and press “Enter.” When ADB connects to your device, type “--wipe_data” and press “Enter.” Your phone restarts in recovery mode and restores Android to factory settings."

That only helps if android debugger is enabled, which most people dont enable it

hmm... i think i have the developer options on and that enabled... hopefully i do, its almost installed ill let you know if anything works

As i said, if you dont need whats on it then just wipe it
May be an issue if you encrypted the sd card though

It wipes the phone data. You will need set it up again, but the microSD card and SIM card will be untouched.
I say do it, if there is not other solution working.

Well RIP. The phone is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ so i need to buy a new one. Its completely bricked stuck on the nokia logo.
