my nintendo switch's battery is swollen, is this the cause?
yesterday, i charged the switch in sleep mode but i forgot to close my game. 8 hours have passed before i unplugged my switch, would it have any negative impact? or is the battery swollen because of manufacturing problems?

also, i was charging it with only usb-c cable and not the dock, does it make any difference?

Might not be a safe battery. Get a replacement as the swollen one might have an explosion risk.
sure do
A swollen battery is usually the result of overcharging. The same thing happened to my Wii U gamepad battery.

Never leave anything charging overnight, as the battery could explode and cause harm. I remember Gen 1 iPod Nanos exploding for this exact reason.
weird , from what I've read and heard most modern devices would be protected agains't battery overcharge.

If the battery doesn't charge up it can overheat instead.
