the other big anime all arent bad , but fairy tail does one thing best by far , its characters , fairy tail has tons of small side characters who are either also members of the fairy tail guild , or other guilds that still are recognizeable and memorable
and the best part , the anime has one of the best soundtracks in my opinion

im even planning to get a fairy tail guild tattoo soon
edit: if you want to see a good example of the great music , watch the 2nd half of episode 284 , doesnt contain any significant spoilers
another great episode to watch to see what the music and style is like is episode 20

JoJo the bizarre adventure
I tried to follow many of them, I had a lot of fun and really good memories with many of them (Ranma, Arale, Dragon Ball, Orange road, Mermaid saga, Detective Conan and others) but none of them motivated me enough to continuously follow it from start to finsh (except very few OAV because there were so few episodes it would have been the dumbest thing possible to not watch all of them), in some cases I missed at least some episodes, in most of them I missed many episodes and I always kept reading and watching new stuff because everything looked so exciting and cool that I couldn't make up my mind and decide which one to follow.
Then one day I decided to start reading Jojo. I have never read or watched anything else since then. I immediately lost all my interest in everything else. I mean there are other things that I consider good, yes, but I couldn't follow all of them anyway, and it is not worth it to decide what to read/watch amongst them and it is not worth it to spend time on those when I can read and watch Jojo.
I don't even read Jojo anymore because I don't like part 7 and part 8 as much as I love the previous ones (except part 5, I don't like part 5 either but I have read it anyway), and at first I tried to find something else to replace Jojo after I "completed" it (Part 6 is the end of the original main storyline, so I consider it completed even if new parts are still being released, they are considered something like a reimagining and are not actual sequels anyway), but the fact is, everytime I try to read something else I always end up thinking "this is so much worse than Jojo", "this is so boring compared to Jojo", "Why should I continue reading this when I already have read Jojo?".
Now I just watch its anime (I have already seen the first four parts 4 times and they were incredibly exciting, I am watching Part 5 just because, I don't like it very much like I said, and I am already thinking about Part 6 I really can't wait for it to be released because it is really exciting and mind blowing) and aside from that I just discarded anything else and spend my time with games instead, because in my opinion, for my taste, once you have read/watched Jojo you don't need anything else. Nothing can be as good as Jojo is except if a new one will manage to be as exciting and intriguing as the original was. Part 7 was not, and I still have many doubts about Part 8.
Maybe you have completely different taste and you could watch it and think it's boring and uninteresting and want to stop after the first episode, but as far as I'm concerned if you don't watch it you are missing the absolute best you can find in japanese animation.
oh man , after reading this i think i will start jojo.(with Hunter x Hunter and Goblin Slayer)
